There are two ways it’s done…. Let’s say a proper way and not.
The not proper way: they buy in flavours from flavour house (companies that make flavours for food and bev) and add them to the base spirit. There is no distillation in this method. It’s more common then you’d like to think and not...
Hello all,
My 9YO wants to go to the saints school holidays program. Has anyone had any experience with these things? Are they any good? Do they get any time with actual Saints players?
We’d be flying up from Tassie for it, so it’s a bit of a commitment.
(Sorry this isn’t exactly on topic...
All alcohol for drinking comes from fermentation and all spirits from fermentation then distillation. So gin is still fermented and distilled…. Maybe the best way to think about it is that alcohol for the “gin base spirit” is outsourced to mega distillery plants that can do it to a high standard...
Hey all,
I can tidy up a bunch of this discussion on making booze as I’m the head distiller for a pretty well known brand and have been doing it for 15+ years.
Firstly, DON’T DISTIL FERMENTED FRUIT JUICE!!!!! Anything with pectin in it produces lots of methanol and it’s how people die or go...
I think this is a smart and great initiative. This should dramatically improve the Sandy players, and with better players and training with the saints we should be able to play the same system at Sandy as the saints.
More quality people, means better culture which breeds better standards and...
I think Owans plays as a mid the rest of the year, is that enough?? Clark has played mid for his development.
Reflecting as I’m typing, maybe we are/will be doing enough in terms of mid development but just watching ross and crouch around the ball makes it all look gross.
I’d personally be...
This discussion kinda goes to a question I’ve got.
How would we feel as supporters is we played the kids in the midfield and because of this we missed final?
I’m personally fine with it as long as we’re hitting the draft.
Agree to a degree…
Midfield still priority no.1.
Watching Bing the last few games belting them through from 50+ has made me want him more. He’s looked incredible the last few weeks imo.
Pretty sure it’s impossible but…..
saints 2023 + 2024 picks and sweetener for Bing.
THEN
Do the Whitfield deal.
Out - 14 + FF + Membrey
In - 4 + Bing + Whitfield
What a dream/joke that would be!
I’m all in for the draft and maybe some future second round smokies, like how Steele came to us.
But…. I was thinking if we threw the cards in the air and rebuilt the midfield, is there a premiership midfield there??
Is Marshal Steele Owans and Sincs good enough?? (With support from others...
I know, thought the same thing as I was typing it.
Membrey plays as a tall forward, Pou plays as a forward mid and definitely isn’t a big marking presence.
Owans, I’m not even sure how to describe him. So far he can do it all.
Yep, except I’m inclined to run two talls not three….
Love what Hammer is doing but can’t find space for them all.
It’s my biggest question on the team, does RTB structure demand 2 or 3 talls?
To me this is what’s scary, there is still plenty of upside in scoring potency.
Cordy for King as the only change would make a massive difference. Opposition are still taking plenty of intercept marks (in my eyes) and King is excellent at bringing it to ground. We are also getting 1:1 looks in...
Yeah, I’m not sure I agree with you re Membrey. Been talked about on here a few times but I’m in the camp that he plays like a tall so he is one.
Non the less, question I come to is who comes out to fit in the extra tall?
Probably the extra mid, but our extra mid rotations have been helping...
The big question in my mind is are we a two or three tall forward line?
For me, given the game style of high pressure and our running our opposition into the ground, I’m for two talls.
Something like….
Owans Membrey Gresh
Butler King Higgins
7th as a rotating mid - Steele, windy ect...
Soooooo.... two hypotheticals....
1) you can have one of BKing, Taranto or JDG. Who do you have?
2) you can have two of BKing,Taranto or JDG. Who do you have?
For mine..... Taranto, and the combo of Taranto and JDG....
We have the 3rd best defence according to the ladder and do it behind a pretty average midfield. I get what is being said here, but overall our defence has been very good this year and Howard is a big part of that.
He plays on the best forward each week and will have goals kicked on him because...
Points for we are 9th but points against we are 3rd best this year so far. We are 3rd for efficiency going into 50. This says to me that our defence and forwardline seem to be functioning well.
To me we need to be getting the ball into 50 more and so when it comes to trade targets the ability...
Billings has played outside probably the worst midfield of the last decade. I’m pretty pumped to see how he goes now that we have some structure and are winning some contested ball.
Not saying he’ll star, but think he is clear best 22 and some pressure on his spot and a winning culture could...
I agree Butler seems down, I actually think his pressure hasn’t been that good either the last two games.
Think he gets a few more weeks, but if it doesn’t come together I’d bring Lienart back in and try long in butlers role.
This week, Ryder and Jones for Hayes and Windhager I recon.
