I always thought it had something to do with the geography with Melbourne, Hawthorn, Collingwood and Richmond all being very directly close to the MCG. For Carlton, North and WB, Marvel is more "down the road" from their traditional home grounds vs cutting across the city.
A lot can change very quickly
This is last year's ladder at R15 - all these teams made finals (actually I don't know if I'll count Sydney lol), two of which played off in a prelim.
Footy's a funny game these days, it ebbs and flows and a season is largely undefined by even a number of...
Hi all, said I was keen on getting this done as a resource that I'm sure will also give a good space to discuss the niche topic of the intricacies and nuances of kit matchups in the AFL.
At first this is my opinion of what would be the ideal kits for every possible matchup across the entire...
I'm going to create an excel spreadsheet using footyjumper.com thumbnails showing what every single matchup for the 2024 season between clubs should look (something some nepo in AFL house should be doing for $90/hr in one afternoon every year in January).
I'll link it so everyone can chop and...
I've been coming around to the idea recently that while the white shorts "policy" is generally a blight on many otherwise classy looking matchups, doing away with it entirely where both teams are to be completely contrasting would be at the expense of some of the more classic matchups such as...

But a simple set up to block...
A lot like the QF last year, an inspired 5-goal drive by the oppo in the last quarter while we hang on goalless in the last. To quote Fly from the docco, we just kick one early in that run about 5-10 minutes into Q4 and that game is just over, completely destroy their will/momentum.
Repeated it...
