Disappointing to hear Carlton fans booing even obviously correct decisions. I assume the bandwagon person who have no idea are coming out of the woodwork.
Sadly Jack Cuffe, who played a few games for North in the early 1950's passed away on Tuesday. Jack, later, coached Glenroy into EDFL finals. One of the nicest guys you would ever meet.
Nice of the Board of Cricket Australia to send two Victorian umpires down to Hobart for the match. I regard Vic umpires as the worst in Australia and the George Bailey decision does nothing to change that view.
Brad Scott and North received a heavy fine when Scott wrongly stated that an umpire had said that Lindsay Thomas was not getting any frees. The reason for the outrageous fine was that to suggest umpires target individual players challenged the integrity of the umpires.

If the players strike, they have breached their contracts. Offer them a new contract 10-15 percent lower. The amount will still be way above the amount 95 percent of them could earn outside football.
Given that Hawthorn have been gifted so many games in recent times, it is not surprising that the posts in support of disgraceful umpiring come predominantly from Hawthorn supporters. Their views on umpiring are irrelevant.
Umpire's boss has conceded that the Hanneberry decision was wrong. Commentators everywhere admit that the Bulldogs got the rub of the green. Sad thing is the Bulldogs would have won anyway and deserved their victory. The disgraceful umpiring took a bit of the gloss off the premiership.

Jack Gunston, Tom Lynch (Adelaide) Stefan Martin, Ty Vickery, Tom Scully, Tory Dickson, Alex Silvagni, Karl Amon, Angus Brayshaw, Jack Hutchins, James Magner, Kyle Martin, Jarred Moore, Dylan Smith, Ash Smith, Sam Sheldon. I think I have missed a couple.
The over-reaction to Brad Scott's admittedly silly comment. And the report of Jamar for verbal abuse are a symptomatic of a poor umpires panel. The current crop are over-protected, over-paid, over pedantic and over-precious.
The four umpires concept was a massive failure. One of the worst umpired rounds in recent years. Didn't alter any results but total inconsistency on deliberate and prior opportunity.
