Yes we all know what happened back in the bad old 80's, the beginning of the AFL, right? And the fact that era was bourne thanks to the blood, sweat and tears of Western Australia. Not to mention the creation of a club that had to sell its soul to the VFL to bail out a bankrupt competition in...
Just shameful this mob can't even get a full house for a local Darby (actually spelt and pronounced "derby"). The most populous city in the country with two I repeat two only AFL clubs and despite all the millions in COLA handouts still can't fill a (tiny little) stadium. And again tonight...
Obviously the single greatest story in football in living memory (notable mention to Goldsack who as we should all be aware by now thanks to channel 7's constant talk about the fairytale, has made a comeback greater than Lazarus) is the story of some tall bloke from the US of A.
It's fair to...
Just curious. 1? 3? 5? I mean after the deliberate salary cap cheating (which seems to have been forgotten by Vic media but somehow the footage of Ben Cousins not stopping to pick up a piece of litter from 2001 still gets rolled out), the subsequent years of anonymity in the doldrums of the...
Well according to the mail, West Coast have achieved a VFL (lol, remember that suburban game) / AFL record of seven consecutive home games with an attendance of over 50,000 at each game. Looks like our reign as the most profitable club in the land shall continue for a long time...
Oh, and did I...
I used to be a patron at the Subiaco Hotel (I've been a member for about 14 years so Christ knows how much I've spent there over the years) however late last year they decided to change their pints to schooners (wtf, this is WA) and charge basically the same price. So, this year I've vowed to...
So on behalf of West Coast players and supporters, I would personally like to apologise to the footballing community on what was an inept, embarrassing performance on the main stage today. I, like many, were expecting and hoping for a nice tight, close contest. Sadly, one side failed to take...
I'd like to think it's just my imagination, but it seems the majority of Essendon supporters are turning a blind eye to the major significance of what's happened at their club. There seems to be very few supporters coming out and openly criticising the club for bringing the game into disrepute...
Howdy folks, going to the match tomorrow. If I recall from last year there were no drinks (alcoholic) available at all. Is this still the case for tomorrow?
So i've often thought channel 10 had the worst telecast in the AFL and watching today on my mates Pioneer plasma it was confirmed - even on one of the best telle's on the market (well, used to be on the market) the picture on channnel 10 was shite.
Why oh why can't we get the biggest game of...
Rumour I heard is Embley wants to be traded to a melb based club. Anyone know if there is any substance to this at all? Just idle water-fountain gossip is all I've heard however wanted to know if anyone else has heard it? Hoping it's not true....
As the title suggests, why is it up to the AFL to decide when cousins returns? As far as I can recall, he did not test positive (three strikes) during the season and was only suspended by the club. Why, therefore, is the AFL involved?
"THE AFL says fallen star Ben Cousins still has a long way...
With the rise and rise in the number of (meaningless) possessions each week in our beloved AFL, has the time come to perhaps distinguish possessions on the lines of, say, defensive or offensive? For example, those possessions that were made in the defensive half get classified as defensive and...
Guys/Gals - since it doesn't appear likely we'll get to vote on where our new stadium goes, have a vote in the BF poll http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=330822
cheers! :thumbsu:
Guys/gals - since it doesn't appear as though we, the WA public, will get a say on where the stadium will go - have a vote in the BF poll http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=330822
cheers! :thumbsu:
With half of your netball field under repair/renovations hence reducing your ground capacity to no more than that of an outer suburbs RSL club on a thursday afternoon, why are there so many vacant seats around the ground? Have the bandwagoners fallen by the wayside already?
Surely he doesn't want to stay over in the east when all his friends and family are over here in Perth?! West Coast would make him feel welcome and with heaps of room in our salary cap we could offer him a far better deal plus the chance to play in a premiership team.
How's about it, Hawks...
Well for a little good news (for me at least). Managed to secure two seats together in CC this year. A bit peed off however because there were originally 2 x 3 seats available (my family have 3 x 2 seats) however we were away and they left a msg on the home phone. When the old boy returned the...
Personally, I'll be heading off to the Paddo to sink a few Hoegaarden's and hopefully watch the boys get up. Then I'll be jetsetting my way to melbourne on Wednesday arvo :)
What's everyone else up to??
...Did we employ something other than man on man for periods in the first half?? Looked to me as though we had a bit of a flood going once or twice, though I had had quite a few beers at that stage...
I know the club have fined these guys $5k each, but what do people think Collingwood should do if they are charged by police with assault, for example? What is an appropriate example that needs to be set by the almighty, highly regarded Collingwood FC?
Personally, if they are charged with...
Well I don't know how bad Cox's unjury is - looked pretty bad at the game and my gut feel was something is broke. If anyone can shed some light on to how long he will be out for please jump in, but I'm thinking it's a 3-4 week injury, minimum.
That said, could it be a blessing in disguise...
Just listened to the interview with Judd on 720abc and just confirmed he is right to go for the WB game. Even went so far as to say he probably could have played this week. Will be back into full training this week... Not much else exciting revealed. Oh, he is going back to Melbourne this week -...
Dont know if anyone else has seen this, but apparently there was an offer to take up the option of buying a "note" for the WCE that came with the membership gear this year. We have premium seats, so maybe it didn't come with all memberships? Not sure, as I still haven't got mine in the mail yet...
Well, got my membership renewal in the mail yesterday and it's paid. $380 lighter. What irks me though is in block 109 where we are it's classified as "premium" yet, probably about 2 rows in front of us it's "budget" at $180 per year. Very little difference - pretty much the whole block is in...
That football genius Walls is at it again. I'm sure most of you would have heard at the end of last nights game he's tipped the Crows for todays game however in the event we do win he's tipping Sydney to beat us. Better stay at home boys because the genius has spoken.
I love the way he was...
