Yeh exactly. I think it's naive to assume Macrae is a full time mid from here. But we don't need him to be.
As long as he's out there, he's value at $715k.
Based off last remarks, Bevo was happy with the "balance" they'd struck with him. And to me thats a big positive to say he's back in and...
Does this sort of analysis on Macrae actually have any benefit?
The CBUS ad slogan comes to mind....
With all things relating to Bevo you're best to ignore all information and instead ask yourself one simple question .....
Thomas was the Jones 2.0 but Jones copped an injury at an unfortunate time!
If he can perform I think he leaps Thomas? Geez its a tough one to go in blind on though.
I am stumped this week.
Being 1 week ahead on rookies has hit a brick wall this week.
No rookies forthcoming. If they are it'll be after the guys I'd want to trade out are locked (campbell/howes).
Likely a couple sideways moves this week and reassess the rookie pool next week...
All for the points extension.
If they can extend it to a place where anyone on the grid has a realistic chance at a point i think that improves the spectacle.
12th -14th(ish) would be about right with the field possibly increasing to 22 in due course.
I'm a sucker for picking the name so I'll be going Macrae.
But I agree with not liking of the one's listed. For the simple fact of how likely are they to consistently score?
Luko has only shown 80s which is not good enough.
Caldwell could score 50 or 120 depending on role how Essendon line up...
Tom Morris is a flog but I don't think he meant make him a $2M/year player (surely not...?).
Just give the current status on him being 3 years at minimum wage it presents a good opportunity for West Coast to offer him massive overs for a contract extension and smooth that out.
Eg. Us offering...
Probably why I think I'm OK taking McAuliffe this week despite showing not alot.
The rookie pool is dwindling so locking away anything with some "pedigree" for minimum price is ok by me.
At the very least mcauliffe will get his chances with Richmond this year. Low risk.
Ive got issues... Young Williams and Jackson with no kitty.
Young/Williams -> Macrae/Adams might be a play.
Freos run is "easy" so may need to hope Jackson can pop a couple 80s in the next two to buy time.
Not really for mine.... I reckon he's my favourite player (non-Eagle) to watch in a footy sense.
When he's on.... just elite. Contested mark to intercept. Then dispatched Durham for a goal from 60. That's as good as footy gets.
Haha top comment. I reckon you're right.
I'm still tossing up between a few random dart throw options instead of locking in the guy averaging 120 as C.
Need to not overthink it. At the very least I think everyone is in the same boat with this.
When you find out can you let me know too please!!
Currently plan is Sheezel... but based of nothing other than not having many alternatives.
Could go Rozee but its a stab in the dark.
Ditto Walsh against GWS.
Or even Young if he were to rack up against the Eagles? It's a lesser captaincy pick...
Clohesy was the critical pick from which everything has snowballed.
I was fortunate enough to grab him direct rather than bother chasing Dempsey.
Let me go into Graham for his debut last week.
And into Garcia this week.
Once you're ahead of the curve it's such an advantage.
Eventually the...
I agree. He's a R15 bye. Its too long to wait on him.
If you want him the best time is yesterday.
Particularly given the entire comp will VC him into this game for another 120.
Edit: That said the argument is... for this weeks sake.. should you pay $1M for Steele, or sub $900k for Walsh?
Next...
I think the logic with these sorts of calls is:
if you missed an uber premo (steele/sheez) then grabbing them late only cements your spot behind all of those who had him earlier.
if you wait and grab cheaper value perhaps you make it back in the long run in other ways.
Best chance at...
wow tough crowd!!
Go back in time and I'm still locking in Jackson in my forward line Round 1!
$770k forward who I can chalk up as a 94 average... sign me up!
I agree we need a plan to move on from him but until options jump out what's the point? Even if he scores 60 this week I'm not jumping...
Gut feel is don't skip Graham. Role and JS looks supreme at the moment.
Drop a fatter rook this week to compensate and still get Gulden next week?
Graham/Clohesy are fieldable options if their first 2 performances are anything to go by. They will be pretty valuable.
