I'm not surprised. he's gotta be one of the worst coaches going around.
Very talented guy. Coached Norwood a few years back and was very strong in young player development.
I'd rather Rohde coach us next year than Eade (if Wallace wasn't be there, but we all know he will be).
....carrying a toddler (I don't have one yet so I'll have to borrow Local's), waving to the crowd. Green Day's song from Sienfeld on the PA.
1954 posts and jim440 calls it a day (unlike Local, Dry Rot & B1954 who have no sense of tradition or history).
The jumper handed over to scooter600x.
They don't kick to Wiggins because he doesn't present. He just runs around in circles with his hand in the air.
The number of times he mis-timed his leads meant those upfield had to stop or go long to Brown/McMahon/whoever. Most of the time Wiggins was running away from the ball trying to get...
In the first quarter I couldn't tell who was who. After that I got used to it a bit. They will never say that though, it would be viewed as making excuses, but I wonder what they thought in private.
I heard this interview too, and would pay absolutely no attention to it at all.
The entire interview was typical footballer's "we're only taking it one week at a time" stuff. Crofty said absolutely nothing.
The Bulldogs have free kick counts like this every week (just ask the Coasters). It's nothing to do with umpiring and everything to do with tackling.
Most frees are for in the back or too high, if you never lay a tackle, you never get penalised - and no Bulldog has laid a tackle since...
What would you do if you were Lade?
Turning 28 and playing for South Adelaide. He will always be third in line behind Primus and Brogan and has only played this year because Primus has been injured so much.
Port need to free up cash, Lade is expendable and a move might save his career...
Bruton and Picken are certainties to go.
Krusher and crofty must be very close to retirement. I believe Krusher may have already said this year is his last. Crofty couldn't keep up with Rocca, so I really don't know who he could play on anymore.
If Colbert was de-listed he could be picked...
Re: Re: Re: Fraser gehrig
That article in the Sun listed Gehrig as being out of contract.
What about pick 1 or 2 in the pre-season draft? :D
My original trade was for Gerhig and St. Kilda's first pick.
Joe,
I'm sure you're perfectly aware, but there is a significant difference between our 1935 jumper and the one we are wearing on Sunday. Our 1935 jumper had a white "V".
The point of it all was he wanted a 2-year deal but we only offered a 1-year deal, only because we were worried about salary cap next year. Alvey wanted out for the security.
When he got injured it was a bit of "this is what I was worried about" so the Dogs committed to him for next year...
I was told that Brown "is a different person. Very difficult to get on with" and also "his manager is playing games".
He has not responded (either way) to the contract offer that was given to him two weeks ago.
I think Alvey is brought up because he wanted to go to Essendon last year. This removes the emotional attachment so people don't feel disloyal by suggesting him.
He is also 23, and everyone knows anyone under 21 is gunna be a champion.
Doc or OS,
Is Murray Boyd of the Jets (a Spottie boy, maybe?) worth drafting? I know he's a big boy, but can he play?
What about Leigh Gallop? Anyone else from the Jets worth looking at? I see Dean Whitten is back playing.
Yes. He wasn't really up to league footy but by giving him bits and pieces he gradually got the feel for it and I think it's helped his development enormously.
I remember his first or second game vs. Geelong at Colonial - the day Ellis did his knee and the Eagle kicked 7! - Hahn was so out...
Hawthorn would only do this if Rawlings forced their hand. Hawthorn will be in Bulldogs style trouble with their KPP's in a year or two. Holland and Barker are just about finished and they have no young guys coming on. They should do everything they can to keep Rawlings, Hay and Thompson.
IMO...
