He's been OK (better than his 2023 form at least), but not clear to me who else we're dropping from the back 7 to make way for Reid and Ridley. Laverde is the easy out, but after that, it is probably Hepp or Kelly, and Hepp's form has simply been better over the first 6 games.
I think Draper out for Wright in is the only change that'll happen.
We need to eventually fit Perkins, Setters, Ridley and Reid back into this 23 which is a nice problem to have. Easy outs on existing 2024 form are Hind, Kelly and Laverde, but not sure who the fourth out is (Hepp been...
Barring additional injuries, I'm not sure who comes out of our 23 to make room for him. Especially when we already need to find room for Setters, Perkins, Reid, and eventually Rids over the next month or so.
3. Durham
2. Jones
1. Caldwell
HM Stringer, Duursma, Merrett, and a special mention to whipping boy Heppell: did some courageous things early that set the tone. He's quietly having one of his best little patches of form in the last 2-3 years.
What I think the changes will be:
OUT - Durham
IN - Setterfield
What I'd like the changes to be:
OUT - Durham (concussion); Laverde (slow); Kelly (spud); Menzies (passenger)
IN - Setterfield; Hayes; Ridley; A.Davey
Plenty of passengers today yet still snuck the win. A lot will be made of the Saints outs but we were missing plenty of personnel as well. Nice to snag four points when you're a long way off your best.

HM to Stringer and Langford. As good as they played at times, too many notches in the negative column to give Pidge or Hepp any votes.
Ngl, seeing the pages upon pages of paranoid "essendon tax" and other hyperbole here (I saw a few suggest "you're not allowed to go for the mark anymore" which is real Herald Sun comment section energy) has finally let me see our supporter base the way a lot of oppo see us. Real daytrip from...
I'll be happy with a solid four quarter showing. Don't think we have the squad to match it with the Saints who look top 4 bound, but hope springs eternal.
If it wasn't for the fact both Draper and Goldy are looking up and about, and we'll likely need them both to try and quell Marshall's...
I know I'm in the minority but I completely get the decision and while it's unfortunate for 2MP that his is the precedent-changing case here, it is important for the game that this kind of thing gets a hefty suspension so we can change behaviors.
I think part of what has made the conversation...
Obviously early days but I think we may have snagged a bargain with Roberts. Shows a bit of footy IQ, a lot of campaigner, and while not blistering he seemed to have a bit of zip about him in the magoos.
Feels strange this autopsy. We played a distinct brand, everyone was playing above their average output, our known weaknesses cost us in the end, but we kept fronting up and didn't get blown away. We play well, they played better, and we now have a sighter that we're about 5 goals off the...
3. Perkins
2. Setterfield
1. McKay
HM to Stringer, Langford and Guelfi who each had dominant periods that contributed to the win.
Pidge would be in the votes if note for his twice-quarterly brain-fades/clangers.
If there is a common thread to the Essendon DNA for the last decade, it is blokes who just want to put the footy on the boot and make it someone else's problem down the line. No vision. No patience. No care. Just kick and hope. It's why intercept defenders have field days against us and it's why...
Our defensive pressure is just dumb. Everyone gets drawn to the ball carrier so if they get it out, Hawks have one, two, sometimes three players free to link up on the outside. Like moths to a flame.
