If you're recruiting Martin its with an eye to offloading him next year.
Making a bet that you can get more than a 'pick 20' value either via trade or FA Compensation (latter more likely), If GC have the cap room its not a bad play in my opinion. Especially since with all the extra rookie spots...
Keep in mind he's standing next to two guys who are much smaller than average (Macpherson 174cm, Gresham 177cm). So while he is a strapping lad, he's probably not as massive that photo implies at first glance. Definitely prototype modern midfielder though.
For the Suns all he could do (i imagine) is make it well known that if they draft him he's retiring.
For Melbourne, he could refuse to do interviews/medicals etc that any properly run club would require before drafting him (wouldnt apply to suns as they have years of history on him obviously)
Nope, I was here till Brad was delisted. (still very seldomly read but dont reply.)
Sunraysia is Brad's dad.
Looking at Old Sols most recent posts maybe you (collectively) are thinking of where he said he wasn't going to post in matchday threads due to excess negativity. He kept posting...
It's a hard industry, fairytales are rare.. for every guy that makes it there are hundreds of hopefuls that don't.
Quietly hoping he may come back to play in the WAFL, and that Dad might come too hey Sunraysia? some Grandad time?
Just letting you guys know I'm probably done with the Suns/the board now that Brad's been officially delisted. You guys are pretty much all ripper blokes and its been a good few years hanging out with you all.
Hang in there the good times will come. You're definitely closer to the far end of...
To be honest I don't think 'giving supporters sunshine and hope' should even be on the list of things a professional sports team considers.
He's a kid thats played two games in a whole season, only one of which was in the last month. what does promoting him say to the other guys on the fringe...
pretty sure he was implying that the former 4 names should be in for a farewell game at the expense of the latter 4 names as they'll be delisted. (daft idea)
Of those names in order of excitement for mine...
1. Ellis
2. Greenwood
--small daylight--
3. SPP
--Gaping Chasm--
4. Betts
As long as the club know they're getting a pure outside mid, and play him as such Ellis will offer the most value of those by quite some way. a few years ago when he was a...
Yes I am expecting all three.
However... If i were selecting, Bowes and Martin yes. Ainsworth is harder. to me he was clearly a step behind Bowes in the NEAFL. but on the other hand theres no NEAFL this week, so if you don't play him in the ones he isn't playing.
Wasn't keeping Fiorini happy the reason that Macpherson was retained on the rookie list before he had his 'explosion/maturation' (ie the time before we were sure he'd make it as an AFL footballer)... pretty sure they are/always have been best mates. On the screens in half time breaks etc they...

I'd love to see GC approach Mick Malthouse, as a Part time (could probably even complete the role from Melbourne) Director of Coaching/Coaches Coach or similar. listening to him on ABC radio each week you can tell he's still sharp as a tack, and ruthlessly logical. It's not that i don't think...
Personal Opinion. We've been in full rebuild mode since end of 2016, anytime you have 5 draft picks, including 4 top tens, thats a rebuild in my books. adding Dew/Evans etc were just elements of the already begun rebuild.
Brad Scheer moved to Queensland (From WA) around Age 13 from memory, played state under 12s/13/14s (whatever the age group is that young...) is for WA. Probs still legitimately on this list as a Queenslander, but just FYI
Must have been in the second quarter sometime, I only started watching halfway through second quarter Scheer's been on Houli the whole time I've been watching. was hoping to see Scheer in the midfield, by the looks of it maybe best I didn't :P
yeah I think even end of first round is exceedingly optimistic. cant imagine him being anywhere near a top 25% earner at anyclub that goes after him. a guy like that you're going after as cover, not because he's going to make your side better
More importantly, they are similar types and Scheer will be happy to be on the rookie list. how fast would Brodie be out the door if he were asked to go to the rookie list in similar circumstances. (which with pick one in the PSD you could totally do.)
I've been a quite vocal critic of Brodie over the years but even I wouldn't have been dropping on his recent form, i was starting to be convinced...
I do find it interesting to note that Scheer is now listed as the centreman, where Brodie was last week (yes, i know the team list means...
What are we thinking?
that this is a brilliant idea, good utilisation of resources and a great way to connect with young members of the community at an early age?
