Shiel would have been so good - he would've instantly improved our team. That being said, I think both Setterfield and Walsh will turn out to be better players than Shiel - and I guarantee I thought this before Shiel announced his decision.
Maybe that's optimistic, but whatever, I believe it...
I refuse to celebrate anything to do with Shiel until it's announced. The confidence of so many people that he's coming to us makes me nervous. I don't know how anyone can be so sure unless he has literally told them. He could always change his mind, like Gaff. Just have to a.) hope he does come...
Gonna be so good, played with him this year and could just feel that he is a gun, a jet, a weapon. Preferred Dow over LDU all year as well. Very excited.
'Letting North take Dow' would be a huge mistake. Dow is of the highest character. I really really want us to pick him at #3. Electric, aggressive and will form delicious chemistry with Crippa, Bam Bam, SPS and the like.
Dow is actually so good and so so far from 'uninspiring'. He is fast and explosive. LDU is a gun too but doesn't fit our needs as well as Dow does. To me Dow is the most exciting prospect in the draft bar Rayner. He was underrated at the start of the year and when he shot up the boards as a top...
I'll be honest I almost cried but ****, when we get back to success we will have deserved it.
Starting to realise now that Docherty's a weapon, but we weren't making finals anyway so it could be worse. I remember when Byrne did his ACL last year - for me, it seemed like he was back and healthy...
My preference at #10 goes:
1. Bonar - special. There's risks with the knee, but if he's got as much chance of doing it again as the next player, don't see why we wouldn't draft him if he's there. Just need to watch his highlights to realise his potential.
2. O'Brien. Was really highly-rated at...
If we got Dow and Fogarty I'd cry of happiness. I guess there is a bit of bust potential with Fogarty, but he also has huge upside. He's a big boy with an elite kick. O'Brien is also someone I'd like at #10. Him and Dow have chem, they went to school together. Best kick in the draft and already...
This whole thread seems to underrate Dow. Personally think he's a more exciting prospect than LDU. Dream scenario for mine would be Dow/Bonar or Rayner/Bonar
I'd expect most of us knew who Kennedy was before trade period began. Highly regarded, rated during his draft year as one of the best. Not getting him would be a mistake, especially if this is the weak draft people are saying it is. He is youth and we should be investing in him.
Watch Gibbs dominating next season and people giving Blues shit for trading away another gun. And watch the people who urged us to trade Gibbs claim the rebuild is stagnant when we don't improve vastly next year (because Gibbs has left). Short term pain, long term gain (if SOS nails the draft)...
I reckon we should take Higgins with #10. And if we have #16 and he's there, surely we take him. I like Bonar but with Higgins you get the sense that he will definitely succeed. Everyone says if he puts his mind to something he'll do it. Very determined.
Reckon Dow and Cerra will both be really good players at AFL level. Definitely think they're more likely to succeed than Stephenson. My preference is still Dow though and I reckon we'll get him.
Did I say he has the potential to be a Rance 2.0? No, just that I think when Weitering's career is over it could be more impressive than that of Rance. He could be very very very good so let's keep him playing defence!
Yep. Weitering has the potential to be better than Rance. I reckon he's going to go really, really well next year. Let's keep playing him in the position that he dominates in - I don't want to risk spoiling anything by playing him forward.
