Chapman in for Hughes
Switta in for Erasmus
Freddy out for Walters
Stanley in for O'Meara
Voss in for Amiss but think they'll go for Taberner because we'll be young next week
Switta Taberner Emmett
Freddy Treacy Jackson
Sharp Fyfe Stanley
Walker Draper Clark
Ryan Pearce Chapman
Darcy...
Should we be worried this week? If we just rock up expecting a win we might get rolled. Think either a close loss where we kick 10.17 to 13.4 OR a 90 point win
In: Darcy, out: Taberner
Pending fitness:
In: frederick, out JOM or Erasmus
Unlikely, pending fitness
In: Chapman, out: Draper or...
Regardless of the fact that he's sticking up for a mate and freo, Bucks is a good media personality. I think "never winning a flag" curse may have humbled his personality to the point that he's quite a thoughtful and empathetic commentator
Having the B team forwards has a flow on effect - if we dont have the right targets up forward we'll be kicking it to port's defence all night, then they'll be getting rebound looks. Because Freddy, Amiss and Jackson aren't presenting, our mids can't see any good options and revert to bombing it...
Eh
Amiss, Jackson, Freddy and Emmett out - thats about 4-6 goals based on their averages, and 4 of our top 6 forwards. Freddy is important for our transition with his speed and leads, as he showed last wekk
Hard to gauge our transition game kicking to the B team forwards.
Cox's intercepting...
Ive watched a few of our wins on replay lately, whenever we made moves in games it seemed to councide with JOM having 8 or so possessions for the quarter, winning contested possessions and delivering inside 50. He'd want to average a few more possesions per game this year though
Team is lacking in passion
Every time sydney kicked a goal the goal kicker would go over the top screaming in celebration, everyone would get around him etc
When our guys kicked goals for the most part they looked sheepish and like they were ashamed of something
From experience playing team...
Yeah * it sack him i reckon. Shame since he obviously is a good tactical coach but it's not being communicated to the players and a head coach needs to be able to get their gameplan across.
He prob get picked up as an assistant to club club on the cusp and revolutionise their defence or...
So funny how at the start of the year we looked at our fixture and were like "hmm we should win our first 5 games, but then we dont have much of a chance from rounds 9-11, we'll probably be 6-5"
I don't think we had any passengers last night, looking through the stat sheet and thinking "yeah they played well" with every player. Hughes to the backline was a great move, his attributes are wasted/exposed on the wing and in the backline he can be a straight line wrecking ball. NOD has that...
Aish should be a full time mid, he's really impressed me with his cleanness inside and is surprisingly strong for his build- he has that "man strength" that you just dont have until your late 20s
Brayshaw and Serong are great players but their strengths are running and linking up in open play...
NOD for Hughes
Sturt for Taberner
Walker for Wilson
Walters maybe for Banfield/Amiss I'd prefer to keep Amiss in
Ryan Cox Chapman
Young Pearce Clark
NOD Brayshaw Aish
Switkowski Sturt Jackson
Schultz Amiss Walters
Darcy Jaeger Serong
Henry Walker Brodie Frederick
Brodie on thin ice and maybe...
Luke Jackson playing forward is just soo predictable, especially since he's never really seen much as a dedicated forward.
He should be prowling the centre square and wings on transition to create a mismatch
Just listened to press conference, i'm very excited for nat fyfe the forward. Sounds like he's had a full mindset shift; Back to his draft position, less midfield bodywork and team first play, more instinctive stuff. He's gonna feel like a new player and win a brownlow a la richo
The best 22 seems hard to pick and there are tons of players from last year that seem like a lock but a new season brings new scapegoats to make way for treacy, erasmus etc
Our forward line woudlve been even worse without lobb for the last 3 years, you're right. 11 and 19 for 30 and JOM over 3 years hmm Jaeger could make that win

Mind you, key forward at afl level is bloody hard. He could have an absolutely impeccable pre season, dominate match sims and improve his best footy by 20%, then once matches start could average 10 possessions and kick 25 goals for the year. It takes time
