Banter Who will be better in 2024? Carlton or Collingwood?

The upside of Carlton back in contention is the epic meltdown when they eventually fail again. The downside is we have to put up with this sort of arrogant crap. Given how Carlton-centric they are, I’m surprised this game was even registered.

Imagine bringing up Damien Barrett as your reputable ‘expert’ for an argument from a week ago.

Love him. Think he’s a gun and gonna be a great player for us, but that last 30seconds was all on him. That’s just fact. Hopefully he feels he has to get that one back somehow as a competitor

Game Day Rd 2 Adelaide V Geelong, Fri 22nd Mar 2024 7:40pm @ Adelaide Oval

WE didn’t. That’s nearly 100% on SDK. Poor decision on kick out of defence, then decided not to spoil the mark. Out of sorts

There’s also a difference between an argument and an opinion

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 1 - Cats v Saints Sat March 16th 7:30pm AEDT (GMHBA)

Agree with that. Should have thrown it to the boundary line but again he didn’t cause he misconduct by creating the safety issue. The reality is if an obstacle like a shoe or glass was thrown onto the field, the umpire would likely stop play and ask that it be removed for the players safety.

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 1 - Cats v Saints Sat March 16th 7:30pm AEDT (GMHBA)

I’d want the obstacle that could cause a rolled ankle to be cleared out from around the ruck contest. Would’ve thought that’d be safer. But that’s just me

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 1 - Cats v Saints Sat March 16th 7:30pm AEDT (GMHBA)

So now I have asterisks and capital letters. Still struggle to see how placing an obstacle next to the ruck contest is not misconduct but clearing it away is.

It would be a judgement call then if misconduct or someone creating a safe workplace

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 1 - Cats v Saints Sat March 16th 7:30pm AEDT (GMHBA)

    How is it misconduct again?

Thanks for the rule. It still doesn’t apply here. Have you got one that does?

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 1 - Cats v Saints Sat March 16th 7:30pm AEDT (GMHBA)

Are you suggesting it is a free kick to throw away a shoe the player has placed in the field of play?

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 1 - Cats v Saints Sat March 16th 7:30pm AEDT (GMHBA)

If he rolls his ankle on the shoe, there might be a problem. Should be allowed to throw it to boundary

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 1 - Cats v Saints Sat March 16th 7:30pm AEDT (GMHBA)

How is that in the back when the incident that caused Bruhn to go off wasn’t. Actually not sure either were but keep it consistent

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 1 - Cats v Saints Sat March 16th 7:30pm AEDT (GMHBA)

Good summation. But think our forward line will begin clicking and that’ll be the difference.

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 1 - Cats v Saints Sat March 16th 7:30pm AEDT (GMHBA)

Have to say this is bot poor taste and poor insight, IMO. None of his concussions were caused during high free kicks where people claim the ‘shoulder shrug’ or ‘ducking’; a number of concussions from collision incidences due to his tough courageous football acts, often going hard at the ball or...

Laura Kane - Does Not Impress Me At All !!

Clearly an outlier here, but I couldn’t be more impressed with how she presents and talks about the game from her role so far.

Agreed. Seems a great appointment - every time I hear her talk I’m impressed.

AFLW AFLW 2023 - Geelong & the greater league

Great summary of game and team to this point. When Morrison started she looked awesome, but then those injuries, you had to wonder if she’d make it, or get anywhere near the potential, but she really adds class and grunt in the midfield with her size. Thought Hoare was really good today as well...

AFLW AFLW 2023 - Geelong & the greater league

Highest AF points on field and 14 tackles. could make an argument she should be higher even. Just love the endeavour and will we get from her week in, week out

AFLW AFLW 2023 - Geelong & the greater league

AMac did so much of the tough stuff, especially at times when others should have been getting in and around as well. She just knows one way and you can rely on her to give her all.

Love Bowen’s toughness for her size. Had a good season
  24. ToreadorMarch

AFLW AFLW 2023 - Geelong & the greater league

Think AMac has to be ahead of Bowen. Was hard and in the contest with bigger bodies all four quarters. The only one. agree with rest - although I feel, especially looking at the list, that we need to put faith in Featherstone that she’ll build into her potential. Webster needs a full preseason...

AFLW AFLW 2023 - Geelong & the greater league

Another huge missed opportunity. This season, man. Shows we need two more solid players to replace Bragg and Scott. Need bigger bodies throughout so we don’t get bashed. Wonder if we can keep both Friz and Bowen in same team - love their running capacity, but Friz is so light. Our list needs...

AFLW AFLW 2023 - Geelong & the greater league

Morrison and Prespakis been huge this quarter, just not quite coming off. Created big chances off their own boot and endeavour, for no goal yet

Scott- need I say it again
  28. ToreadorMarch

AFLW AFLW 2023 - Geelong & the greater league

I reiterate my call on Scott; she just doesn’t up to the level anymore. And unfortunately Bragg still lacks the sharpness at this level too. We need to find a couple more, but they don’t seem to be on our list right now
