Totally agree with floating fixtures. Swapping one matchup with the Fri night matchup if it's a top team or has a bearing on the finals. E.g. there was a Hawthorn vs Geelong game late this season that would've much better being played Fri night instead of the actual boring Fri night game.
The AFL really needs to take a page out of the NFL fixture where most of their primetime games (Fri night in AFL/Sun night in NFL) have the best teams and matchups. Carlton playing once Fri night is fine but not 4 times.
Friday night is the AFL equivalent of their Sunday night primetime which should also have the best teams and matchups playing Friday nights, not Carlton 4 times. That's what I meant.
Likely because it's just too easy to tackle someone from behind ramming them in the back. Doesn't take as much skill as a legal tackle.
I see it all the time in the NFL but works better in that sport, Aussie rules not so much.
Any word on when the fixture will be released?
Hopefully Carlton or some other bottom team doesn't have so many Friday night games again.

I never said it should be rule less. Just that technical calls and calls that could go either way should be let go. Only pay them if they're obvious and have an effect on play.
This. This is what I meant by my original post. Frees that have no impact on play or could go either way should be let go. Frees that are obvious should be given. As long as it's consistent towards both teams.
Not sure why people are saying this idea is street rules.
Examples of what should be...
Instead of bs rule changes a big part to reducing stoppages and making the game more exciting would be for the AFL to get the umpires to umpire every game the way they did in the Grand Final.. by letting it go and only paying deadset obvious or blatant frees.
Opinions?
Edit: This is what I...
The Tiges only have themselves to blame for losing last night but I do agree the bye disadvantages top teams. Teams that win their qualifying final only play 2 games in 4 weeks and that can definitely ruin momentum.
I've never liked the bye. 2 byes are excessive for teams that win qualifying...
Hi I'm Pete, late 20s and live in southeast suburbs Melbourne.
Sometimes do kick to kick but friends of mine lost interest or too busy. Would be great to get back into it. There's a footy oval right near my house with goalposts.
If anyone's interested pm me.
The AFL is considering having 6 players from each team to be inside each 50 arc at each center bounce and even implementing this rule change for certain 'dead rubber' games in the last few rounds of the season.
What's your opinion of this proposal? Is there something else that should be...
