Old bloke near me will still every now and then when the umps give a dodgy free kick against us will yell out "Jackson's Men" in reference to his 2 decade old catchcry and belief that Wayne Jackson used to personally give umpires brown bags stuffed with cash to screw us over every week.....
The track around the ovals is not flat either: Where they start running outside the building it is level with the MCG oval, then it goes up a slight hill as it wraps past the far Etihad oval goals near the road entrance and then the track winds back around the other side of the MCG oval still at...
One of my favourite games, I was a bay or two away from being behind the punt road goals.
I've deliberately never watched a replay as I don't want to potentially realise watching it back that it may not be as awesome as my memory tells me it was!!
Lewis Blackmore.
When this 19yo kid kicked 4 goals on debut in the latter part of 1905 I was thinking "You beauty, we have found one!"
Then when he followed that up kicking one of our only four goals the next week, and again one of our only four goals the week after in our Semi Final loss to...
Yeah I've heard similar to yourself. Further I'm lead to believe that he attended a lot of the meetings and phone calls with lawyers, the players association etc, handelling and keeping on top of a lot of the details/decisions; giving a lot of the other guys a mental chop out from it all as such.
Overheard my 6yo this morning singing this song he made up to the tune of our theme song:
"See McGrath fly up, up, to win the rising star. Our Joey Daniher loves playing with him, and with Tippa we always win. See McGrath fly up, up, yeah we win everything!!"
Just got a call from Dustin Fletcher!
Ok it was just one of those automated calls the Club does from time to time.... phone number ends in 2000 for those who normally don't answer unknown numbers.
Loved in his post game interview on BomberTV when asked what was the most pleasing aspect about the win where he responded with "The Scoreboard".
:grinning:
Is it just me that gets the feeling the AFL executuves already know who they want the next Clubs to be? Maybe I've just become too much of a cynic after the last few years...
I like the fact that his role is to improve the skills of the players. Modern football tends to have far too many coaches focusing on structures, tactics etc, so it's great to have someone specifically focusing on a very important aspect of the game. Our skill levels have been shocking for...
Yeah I think Aps1 would probably have the best record, his SC teams are usually called Slobs. Has finished 4th, 13th, 540 and 1117 in the last four years, and I believe he is now a member of SC Elite on here. There are a few other coaches around the various SC websites that have also had...
The last couple of years it has been on the Thursday, so I'm expecting it to be Thursday next week. Thus it gives the AFL a series of leaks over the next week to constantly stay in the media and a major talking point before next weekend.
Trade radio mentioning the Hawks may have to trade a future 2nd round..... Ah no they can't as they have traded their 1st away..... Seriously how can these 'professionals' on trade radio not know the rules?? :drunk:
