Realistically WC won’t be competing seriously for at least 5 years (and that is very optimistic) as they will be having to develop rucks and replace KPP’s which of course take significantly longer to perform consistently.

It’s obvious WC has set clear and defined KPI’s rather than winning the game. Case in point was benching HR when his spark was what was keeping us in the game. Although it is enjoyable watching HR, Chesser, and Long coming along, it will generally be a boring season with significant losses...

With all these sackings it might be a good time to also ditch the song. After all, our on field performance issues may be related to the players simply wanting to avoid this negative stimuli.

Admittedly I don’t know much about how the draft work, but why can’t we trade out a couple of old players toNieth to secure picks 2 and 3 for pick 1? Why do we keep holding old players and keep paying them so much?

The new song absolutely must go. Hearing it twice this year was a low point. The song it replaced was not that good either but vastly superior to the one we currently have.

Love this take. Exciting times Naughton is a very good player and his kicking for goal is not as bad as my unfairly knocking him. If he can sort out his kicking he will be a great footballer. Honestly wish him the best and I’m all for WA talent returning home.

The Dockers passed on him because he couldn’t kick a football. It still appears as though he cannot kick a football. I cannot go from watching the mastery of a Josh Kennedy to watching the likes of Naughton butcher the ball week in and week out.

I was ambivalent about the outcome of this. Now that we have Simpson for another year, I hope this will be beginning of us coming back bigger and stronger as we build into a dynasty. We have the options to do this now but the recruiting/trading must be absolutely nailed.

Another poor element of yesterdays win was having to listen to the theme song again. It just plainly sucks and is another example of how arrogant they are to foist that upon the supporters without any consultation.

It’s not on free to air in Perth so can’t watch. Thanks a lot Gill - so much for a game that was once the people’s game, no doubt he got a bonus for that initiative.

Honest question here: Could the current WC team (not including injured players) beat Claremont or Subi right now?

WC should target key position players in the draft and trade for an established but young enough ruck a year down the track.

I did miss that but how can they fail in this most fundamental of undertakings? I agree though, B. Williams is progressing and will make a very decent number 2, especially if his forward craft comes along.

Their rhetoric has avoided the ‘rebuild word’ for the last 2 years. This isn’t them being clever and avoiding alarmist language. It’s the club believing their current playing group is still in a window of sorts (ala Geelong), and believing this without even going out and recruiting a half decent...

We haven’t started rebuilding yet. And I fear that, if and when they do decide to rebuild, they may have missed the boat.
