Curnow and McKay should tip the scales Carlton's way. I am not sure that Freo has them covered. Pearce will probably go to McKay but what about the other? Ryan is not really a KPD and Draper, while promising, is a kid with 2 games under his belt.
Tough game for Freo to win.
Adelaide forward line worries me. Tex always plays well against us and the young guys Rankine, Rachele and Fogarty are talented. Will Thilthorpe be fit?
Pearce will take Tex and you would think that Ryan will cover Fogarty.
Also O'Brien is in good form and should win the bulk of the hitouts.
I am old enough to remember the great South African Barry Richards playing for South Australia and belting 300+ in a day against Western Australia in the early 70s. The WA attack was no mob of pie throwers either. Comprised of Dennis Lillee, Graham McKenzie and Tony Lock.
The North game would be a good time to blood a new young KPD. Looking at their list they are not stacked with KPF. There is Larkey ( a goodun ) and then some largely untried players - ColemanJones, Will Dawson, Comben and Bigoa Nyuon.
So, at least young Draper will be lining up on a player with...
Dunno about the msd.
We have got 3 young tall defenders in Murphy, Draper and Davies. Plus Chapman to return.
Lets just develop them.
My pref would be for Draper to come in for Omac. He is raw but a real nice mover.
Big reveal was a bit underwhelming.
Very predictable. Glad they did'nt succumb to all the marketing crap that have marred other new teams with silly "edgy" names and jumpers.

We can all agree that young Harley Reid has been criminally ignored by the WA media. Good to see the Fish n' Chip Times correcting this injustice.
No confidence in this game at all. Our opponents have already a tough game under their belt and we come in cold
I am also worried about JLos game plan. Has he made the necessary changes? Not from what we have seen in the pre-season it seems,
Only 6 Freo players lining up for the Peel scratchie this weekend
Brandon Walker
Max Knobel
Corey Wagner
Jeremy Sharp
Conrad Williams
Patrick Voss
Can we read anything into this re next weeks selections. Sharp def needs the extra run.
The other night I was walking on a path by the ocean and a bandicoot crossed the path ahead of me, going in the direction of the the sea.
I consulted a seer and she told me that Fremantle will have a successful year after a slow start. The bandicoot heading towards the sea means that we are...

Wagner over Walker due...
That sort of thing used to be common in the bad old days. I never liked it. People said its a tough game but there is nothing tough about blind siding a player like that.
Trading in JOM may have been a mistake. His impact has not been what we would have hoped for and , being automatically included each week, is now standing the way of Erasmus and Johnson, not to mention Brodie.
In 2022 we had a midfield that was humming along - Brayshaw, Serong and Brodie...
Was way off the mark last year. Time to get back on the horse.
