I think we do. It may be that 3O is the new 25, but injuries mount up over time. No doubt someone will point out that our average list age is such and such, however we still have plenty in the 30+ category. Hoskin Elliot is only weeks away from his 30th birthday.
Both played almost the same number of games, both retired shortly after their respective premierships. Both players were relatively cheap pick ups. Who do you think had a greater influence?
On holiday in Brunswick Heads and thought I’d drive down to Byron today to watch the Magpies. Oddly enough, they’re also playing the Kangaroos (Robina).
Game starts at noon, so will be back at the Brunswick Heads Hotel in time for the main game on Fox Footy.
They have an enviable guernsey with one sponsor, that matches the colours of their guernsey.
We have red and green sponsorship on a black and white jumper. We’ve now added a sponsorship patch above the players’ numbers. It looks like an NRL jumper!
We’ve had several, most recently Howe, however over the years there’s been some great ones. Picken, Peter Moore, Tarrant, the Roccas, Thomas and Elliot to name a few. Who’s your pick?
If we (Australia) manage to have a semi normal year next year, and we (Collingwood) really are who we say we are, then we should unequivocally pull the biggest crowds.
This muppet just said good clubs look after their players on their way out. He was referring to Jack Higgins leaving Richmond.
Richmond is hardly an example of that over time. This flog worked for Richmond as an assistant coach, not surprising he’d say that.
He is the ultimate Collingwood hater.
Next year will be thirty years since Millane’s tragic passing. Could that be a good time to reintroduce the number again. Personally I’d like to see someone like Maynard wear number 42.
This guy wears our jumper with pride. Yes he’s frustrating, but by god he gives everything he has for Collingwood. That bump he copped from Cripps was very heavy. You’ll never see Mayne shirk a contest, and that’s why he’s picked most weeks. He is right up there with Adams as our most courageous...
Given the rebirth of form of Tom Hawkins at a mature age, and the way Adelaide is playing, it may just be possible to lure him. He’s not a South Australian and he clearly needs a new environment. It might be worth a punt. The guy can kick, unlike so many Collingwood forwards in recent years...
All premiership players, and all back flanks. Morwood played almost the same number of games as O’Brien, and Johnson played almost as many as Crosisca. Who was better?
They both left the club for four seasons to play elsewhere, then they both came back again. Who had more impact in their career with Collingwood?
Beams had a Premiership medal, and has a Copeland. His 2012 season was stellar. Poetry in motion. Tarrant Kicked 350+ goals, was a magnificent mark...
I don’t think that this is totally out of the question. The guy simply can’t ruck for the next seven years, so why not rotate him through this position. He’s agile enough, has a good pair of hands, and can kick a long goal.
Thoughts.
