Discussion Both teams wearing clash jumpers

This match caused the NRL to mandate that all teams have light and dark jerseys. Round 1 2003 — Penrith (clash) vs Brisbane (away)

I’d like to see more adaptability. That’s pretty unlikely to actually happen though, considering how rigid the AFL and certain teams are considering guernseys. its been done is quite right; the NRL has often featured odd uniform choices, for better or worse. The earliest instance I know of was...

    Jumper clash fails

Essendon and Adelaide has always been problematic, see this match. But you’re all quite correct in suggesting a yellow-based guernsey would be best when the Crows play away to Essendon, Melbourne, St Kilda and Fremantle. These matches may only happen twice a year but it’s not without precedent...

First Brisbane longie since Round 7 2008: With sleeves also returning at Hawthorn (for the first time since 2006), this leaves Gold Coast, Richmond and West Coast as the only teams not to have seen longies within the last three years.

    Discussion Worst ever jumper clashes

The most annoying clashes in rugby league are when alternates are available, but unworn. Western Suburbs also did this in their final away game in the NRL in R24 1999. Had a white jersey that year but couldn’t be arsed to bring it.

Probably not the right thread, but why is Mick Dwyer in this photo? It’s before the 1992 Preliminary Final between Geelong and Footscray. Madden and Daniher were retiring, Dunstall had won the Coleman Medal, and Mick?

Discussion Round 2, 2022 - Photos and Discussion

Ideal options this year would be Rounds 9, 15, 17, 19; home games against Melbourne, Essendon, Carlton, St Kilda. Especially considering all (except maybe SK) will wear navy/black + white in those games against West Coast’s blue + blue.

Being known simply as “Dolphins” is really not that alienating; hardly anyone refers to teams in the QRL by their location. The official website uses monikers almost exclusively, see the ladder here. I’m almost certain that gold is being introduced because the Dragons kicked up a fuss. Which is...
