It did for a short time in that game, a couple of times he had to attend to his hair because his bun had collapsed, one time when the ball was in his area of influence. Mullin's hair was very long, down to his lower back when he let it out. He was growing it for a good cause which is admirable...

2 reasons Mullin's form should improve His sister's wedding is done He doesn't need to fuss about his long hair anymore. He can really focus on footy now. It's not good for your football when you are dealing with your collapsed hair bun during the game. With Mullin, talent will not hold him...

I'm saying Selwood shrugged his shoulders to get out of the tackle not specifically to get a free for high contact. I thought I made that obvious in my diatribe. You think he shrugged his shoulders to get high contact and a free kick. We disagree but that does not make you willfully ignorant.

Look at OKC Thunder in the NBA. No matter what they achieve they continue to be underrated. They finished top of the Western Conference, the youngest team in history to do that, only team with a better record is the Celtics. Early in the season "they haven't played any good teams" - they kept...

Lets get this straight. Joel Selwood didn't accentuate as in exaggerate the high tackle, he was usually getting his head ripped off. He was not into acting and throwing his head back. Selwood tried to wiggle out of tackles by dropping his shoulders and was often successful in escaping the...

Not so sure about Neale going out for Hawkins. Hawkins last game must have been close to the worst game he has ever played at Geelong. Neale's last game was the best he has played.

O.Henry is not tall. He wrote some ripping short stories. I'd play Hawkins and Neale interchanging off the bench. As soon as Harris Andrews and/or Jack Payne start taking uncontested marks then off with Hawkins, on comes Neale.

However Tomahawk provides zero forward defensive pressure. So many opposition uncontested marks are taken with him in the drop zone. You saw what Neale's presence did for the small forwards. Close and Stengle kicked a combined 7 goals. Blind Freddy can see what is happening there.

O'Connor was good today. Apart from his usual run and tackling pressure he did a couple pure football things.

Neale is another tall athletic type who just might be able to play football. He was impressive today. That drag with Scott towards the goals showed his straight line speed and the bump and pick up on the run was encouraging. He's got a way to go but time is on his side. Because he is mobile he...

Cats tackling has been so weak. Atkins needs to learn hiw to tackle and not let his opponent gets his arms free. Pathetic attempt. That poor effort led to a NM goal when it should have been locked in the Cat's forward 50.

Riewoldt is a coach's dream. He gives 100% every time he steps onto a ground, inspires others with his courage, yadda, yadda, yadda. Stanley is the sort of player where the coach earns his money. He's talented but he's up and down, plays good games and then not so good ones, lacks the confidence...

But we do play NM later in the year. Strongly disagree with your theory. It's never a good time to drop a game. I don't mind the occasional ugly win.

I don't think Atkins is suitable for defence anymore. He has slowed down a bit so no good guarding Charlie Cameron types. Backmen are taller now, they have to be able to intercept or spike the incoming ball to prevent it going over the back. Atkins is a midfielder now and is competing for the...

I don't think they really rated Geelong. They seemed a bit lost for words when Geelong built up a decent lead. A bit like "this can't be happening".

SDK is very tall, it takes a long time for the motor nerves to pass the message from his brain to his legs. Look at Max Gawn, he doesn't exactly move like. gazelle and has an awkward kicking technique, but with height comes advantage.

Yes I was wrong. 😃 But I admit when I am wrong. My theory was that Scott is a big fan of O'Connor. I think O'Connor is going through an ordinary patch but he is a very versatile player and we need him up and firing.

That's some serious fatigue when you cannot lift an arm to affect a contest and cannot compete for a mark when it is almost on top of your head. Whatever you call it Hawkins was insipid and it had a negative effect on the team. I love Tomahawk but I did not like his efforts last night. No player...

I think you meant leeway or "cut him some slack". However "leave" might be the answer. He has earned a rest and Shannon Neale is waiting in the wings. Tomahawk should be managed, perhaps play 2 out of every 3 games. If Neale takes to his role then he can be given even more games.

It could have been a let down after all the nervous energy around his 350th. However he was not competing last night. He was dropping his head, he was frustrated and he was giving up on contests when he still had a chance to influence them. It was so frustrating to watch. Ok to say Hawkins has...

When Tomahawk is in lazy mode like tonight it must be so frustrating for the players who bust their arses to get the ball to him.
