Spot on WWCD.
People forget they'll get the points with trading out some of their existing players this year.
GC are stacked with talent, they don't want 2 x average kids at picks 10 & 17 (pushed out to 13 and 20). They'd rather a top 3 quality pick next year to add to their talented list.
Maybe he felt the pull last year but told people what they wanted to hear not knowing fully himself yet? Who knows apart from those close to him? It hurts that the compensation will be 55 after being told that he wouldn't go unless Hawthorn were looked after in the trade.
What are your...
Just because it wasn't documented doesn't make it false. if given the opportunity, Brocky most likely would've said yes and we could've spun it that the Hawks were letting him go home because of his young family and his ties that are in W.A. (even though most of his support family live here)...
Be interesting if the Hawks send Brockman and Lions Robertson to the PSD. Wonder which one WC will pick?
Seems they’re very keen on both so will use fair trade value for each.
Can we have a sticky on top of each page that confirms:
1. Having McKay will release Sicily to roam around the backline.
2. He's a free hit so won't cost us draft picks.
3. We have a war-chest so paying overs is a no brainer.
4. Again, He will free Sicily in the backline.
We’ll they’re way over the cap. No club will be that charitable and take on a salary dump for a 2nd round pick. They dug their hole.
They have 6 and 13 both of which will be pushed back. 13 may be enticing for some clubs?
I agree, it was Brayshaw that moved off his line, not Maynard. Neither had eyes at each other, only the ball.
If Maynard really wanted to hurt him, he would've just kept running and hip and shouldered him. His intention was to smother, the impact was secondary in that split second.
Without looking at the points table, If Walter gets bid at 2 then pick 10 gets swallowed and 17 pushed back. Crazy for the Suns to do that pick swap. But Suns will be Suns i guess??
I'm not sure about that. When we lost our FA's a few years back, we were only notified the day after the deal was confirmed. It may have changed since??
I was under the impression, the AFL allocates the compensation pick after the deal has gone through, not during the 3 day window that teams are given to match?
He was on the verge of being sacked half way through 2017. It was more Leppitsch and McRae that evolved the game plan that changed everything. I can’t see him having success for a few years at GC.
