Murph reminds me of another magpie whose career was cut very short by knee injuries. Lee walker.
Lee was a cracking bloke, love by everyone. He only played a handful of games. The club looked after him, gave him a job. After a while he went back to WA and worked in footy for quite a while...
My understanding is the Wright offered his resignation as he was burnt out. The club(presumably Kelly and Browne) wanted to keep him so offered the current scenario we have now. Not sure Wright can be fairly criticised for this.
No, I don't think. If I thought that I would not have posted. I think the opinion that Fly playing senior players who's form in the first 2 games has not been great ahead of Fin is a legitimate argument. I am not saying he should or shouldn't have, simply saying you could make that argument...
What an awful take that was by Caro. There were a number of legitimate angels she could have taken if she specifically wanted to criticise fly but she decides to take the personal line.
She could have talked about only playing Fin in 2 quarters despite a huge pre-season. She could have talked...
I am not buying into this GOAT argument. It's so subjective it's not worth a debate. I am however prepared to argue the ridiculous myth that Nick does not win contested footy.
After 2 games this year (yes I understand only 8 sides have played 2) he is 2nd in both contested footy and clearances...
I said it 2 years ago and I’ll say it again now. This kid will leave no stone unturned to make it. His attitude is exceptional. Loved his interview and great to see how much murph has been teaching him his role. Says a lot about Murph and his character. If Murph does decide to retire I reckon he...
I look at it differently. He is learning to play the way Fly wants him to. He has taken risks and turned it over a few times. I think he can use it fine. I'd rather see him try and use the corridor and move it quickly than take the safe options. He is going make mistakes playing that way.
I think Allen and Ryan have also been good. Allen has won some clearances which is pleasing to see. He is very athletically gifted. Just needs to learn how to use is massive frame more.
Thanks Mate,
I really like the way Oscar Steene is developing. His ruck craft looks to be improving all the time and can really take a mark. He looks like he has physically developed quite a bit. Based in what I have seen over the pre-season it would not Suprise be if he sneaks in a game or 2...
Just a rumor but if it turns out to be true then I will remember Murph as a massive part of our 2023 premiership campaign and a warrior on the field. Even if he never pulls on a pair of boots again I can see him being part an AFL club in another role either at the Pies or somewhere else. Wish...
I think that’s a bit rough on the club Grundy. I personally don’t expect a live feed of the intraclub and saw it as a bonus. I thought it was easy to find. Feed was ok. Commentary and interviews with Jason Bennett in the drivers seat was much better than expected.
The club has been exceptional...
In all serious though, the warning is an embarrassing part of the rule. If you can't get organised and break the 666 rule just pay a bloody free. Giving a warning is under 9 level stuff
Had a very interesting conversation with a mate this week. He has been an air traffic controller at the Melbourne airport for 25 years and was her boss for a short period of time. Said she was bat sh!t crazy, very vindictive and manipulative. She was sacked not all that long after she started...
Sounds so legit. "Hey guys, wrighty here. Look we are keen to keep Ginny but he has been approached by the Hawks who have offered us a can of coke and a bag of chips. Whats your thoughts Darc and Bruz?" Moore replies "Coke and a bag of chips hey, yer do the deal Wrighty" Wrighty- "Done boys, so...
So your saying the decision to let him go was not Wright, Flies, Kellys. It was pendles, Bruz and Moore etc? Sorry I call bulltish. Not saying they were not consulted but I just cannot believe that a club as well run as ours would be letting players make list calls.
We literally just won a flag with our normie traded in for a 2nd rounder and Mitchell who also polled in the normie for a bag of peanuts.
Ginni was on the nose with our club, and we had no leverage. We were never going to get more than what they gave us.
You need to go no further than the success of rookie drafts to see many recruiters get it wrong.
His numbers in tac show these performances are consistent. And you’re comparing him to players who have been in the system for a few years.
No he won’t pull of the jdg goal but 99% of players in the comp won’t either. I don’t think anyone sees the kid as a potential jdg, danger, Cripps or Dusty but that doesn’t mean he can’t be a handy inside distributor. He might not make it but a tall strong mid who gets 28 touches a game at every...
All this talk about the Stephen’s kid being too developed and slow staggers me. He has a skill that is pretty important. He gets a stack of the footy. He smashed us in the vfl game he played. Looked quite composed too. Looks to be a natural inside mid from that game.
Some of You Melbourne supporters need to take a good hard look at yourselves. Jvr deliberate elbow to Mcstays chin. Kosi consistently going after oppos heads. A loose cannon as a coach. Best player off the rails and now this and your calling Maynard a grub. Melbourne should have been a destiny...
