Finished top going 15-6-1 too. A very weak return for a minor premier.
It's a record that would have had them sitting 7th the previous year in 2016, and 5th in 2012, 2014, 2022, & 2023.
They were a good team. Nothing more, nothing less.
Yep, former first round pick leaves for a first round pick in exchange, rinse and repeat.
Who knows how long it can go on for, but if they can continue to develop these kids it's pretty self sustaining.
I was calling this all through the 2022 winning streak that it was as quiet in here as it had been in years.
It's just so convenient how so many on here lose access to the internet when we're winning isn't it?
Nevertheless, if we go down by 5 goals on Saturday we can expect the triumphant...
Where did you get that from?
We're just taking the piss that we could potentially win it in a rebuild year.
It's all gravy to us right now. Sit back, watch some kids develop and see if we can give it a shake.
The difference is those Sydney sides already had Heeney, Mills, Rowbottom, Papley, Hayward, Florent, Blakey, & McCartin as promising youth, to go with the veterans who still had years ahead of them in Parker, Rampe, & Franklin.
They also picked up both Warner & McDonald in back-to-back drafts...
In terms of youth, they're like the 2015 Blues but they don't even have a super young Cripps to make it all look a little better.
They're a long way off, and I highly doubt they're getting a superdraft in a few months of Weitering, Curnow, & McKay like the Blues did.
MR is just going through...
In: Stanley, Guthrie, Knevitt?
Out: Conway, Stewart, Clark?
Could see it happening. Bolster the midfield and allow Bowes and/or Atkins to play more in defence to cover Stewart.
Said it at the time, he was 25 year old with a 30 year olds body. Did not want.
So glad the Tigers were stupid enough to add the extra $$$ and years, even if it meant him being 'stolen' from us.
That's a lot of words to completely miss the point. Players move clubs, plain and simple.
If you can't handle that, then you might as well give up sport all together.
The "bUt tHis wAs dIfFfEreNT" routine is the same stuff that Norf supporters have whinged about with JHF.
It's just childish...
The point is players move clubs. Collingwood included, and you've benefitted as much as anyone.
To act like they've committed a crime when doing so is a bit childish.
It's a job to these guys. The sooner everyone grows up and accepts that, the better.
Home & away, right? Think I'll take the 5 that people are actually going to remember.
In all seriousness though, why does Henry fascinate Collingwood supporters?
Treloar, Crisp, Hill, Cameron, Frampton, Adams, Howe, McStay, WHE, all in recent memory, and have been integral parts of the...
Stop acting like deluded morons whinging about the 'CFL' and we won't have to.
It's unfortunately common for a group that's meant to be in the minority.
He won't go there. If LDU leaves Norf, it's going to be to a club that's competing.
It's got nothing do with money, otherwise it would already be done. Norf can offer more $$$ than anybody.
A player can only take so much losing before they fall out of love with the game. I highly doubt he's...
Typical attempt at trying to put a dampner on everything Geelong.
Media: He's being offered 1mill+ at several clubs, it's hard to see how the Cats keep him.
Also media: Geelong can't afford to lose Holmes. He's the best young talent they have and is key to the clubs future, his departure would...
....And your clubs greatest 'era' since before the Vietnam war concluded can't even measure up to Geelongs 'Too old, Too slow' attempts between 2020-22.
I'd be pissed too. You've waited generations to win one solitary flag and you go straight back to being a joke.
It it mental weakness? Clarry...
Hawkins might go on, although a flag would almost certainly leave him satisfied, same with Duncan.
Depending on how the club views Neale, he might get the push anyway, but a flag would be the perfect send-off for both parties.
Bews, Touhy, Rohan & even Stanley are quickly approaching the...
And you understand the salary cap is going up, yes?
So much so that the average AFL salary is going to be around 550k.
Holmes for 200k over whatever the average spud is getting is an absolute bargain, as per usual.
