The culture he's developed there is one of love and care. Regardless of what any player does, they'll receive that love and care from Ken. The standards are not to win on the field, it's to do what you want.
This team will make finals and will go out first round. Not even good enough this year...
Hahahahaha
Great job proving you can't read. I never suggested a straight swap.
Wines for McCreery + a good pick is something that could be a win-win for both sides
Not sure if this has already been mentioned on the board but someone I'd target is Beau McCreery. He's got a contract till 2027 so might not be easy to get him out. But he's a South Australian and I wonder what it'd take for Collingwood to let him go in terms of picks/players.
His pressure and...
Finlayson was slightly better than last week, especially in the 2nd half. Still a worry for me but given we don't want to risk Charlie in the ruck it gives us little option but to play him.
I might be in the minority here in saying this but Dixon isn't our avenue to winning a flag and I...
The interesting thing is that he ability as a forward was never in question. Not during his junior days and not doing his time in SANFL as a forward either. He probably didn't transfer his freakish skills from u18s to SANFL but he was still effective.
He's also not exactly slow, probably same...
I'd like us to take Weckert tomorrow in the rookie draft. Don't really have a contested marking type forward other than Lord (Dixon is becoming less reliant now and maybe has 1 year left) so Weckert would be a nice project KF. Not sure if Scully will end up being that type of player
Ken has done it in the past with Lycett and Ryder and played 2 so I wouldn't be surprised if both Soldo and Sweet lined up as they are more mobile than the other 2.
In line with all the overvaluation for other KPDs haha
I'd rather have Cluz at his best than BZT at his, with the difference being their age and Cluz's recent injury record (aside from which he's been available). Almost even, just not quite
I think that's as far as a "threat" as CD or anyone from the nice boys club have done imo
Sounded like we said it's 25 or nothing with Esava and pay up for Duursma given he's contracted
This is where I wish we had a list manager that just turned around and says that pick 24 is off the table now. Offer 40 or take him via National Draft or PSD, because we can't be getting bullied by clubs. Make someone else look like fools for once in a trade like this
If you could possibly take your hand off the hinkley throttle for once and re read from a list management perspective how is it not a sort of ruthless decision to improve the list for obvious shortcomings?
Because ruthless would mean getting rid of people like DBJ, Dixon, Jonas or Bonner...
There's just so much risk in this when you think about what happened in 2022.
Dixon, Boak, McKenzie a year older. Lycett gone. Perhaps an inexperienced 1st ruck in Sweet and 2 new tall defenders. Georgiades coming off a long lay off.
I'm not being negative to say we will finish outside top 8...
If it's a 2 year contract, are we just delaying the inevitable or would the deal result in him becoming a RFA? (might be a dumb question but FA rules are confusing to me)
I'm just intrigued as to why it isn't longer than a 2 year deal
I am a terrible reader of sarcasm on online platform so I am not sure if this is one or not. And I have just made my way through to this thread so it might've been mentioned earlier already!
But Miller is not Miles' brother......Miles, I believe, has one brother named Blake.
I agree with Macca here. If Clarke is available at 33, he's gotta be our first pick. He could become a genuine match winner and with us having Fantasia and Rioli, he could play an important role. Doubt he gets to us though
Well done mate!
In hindsight though, my opinion is:
33 - Van Es (it's slightly above where I rate him but I'm happy to pay the premium)
56 - Drury
73 - one of Phillips, Eyers or Marshall in that order
The more I read, the more I feel like Van Es would be available at our 2nd pick which will end up in early 50s after F/S bids. If that is the case, who should we take at 33?
The 5 prospects I'd look at are Munkara, Magor, Darcy Jones, Charlie Clarke and Lemmey
Then hope Van Es or Ethan...
I don't think Van Es has Brain fades though. Defensively, he rarely loses a contest and perhaps the best pure 1v 1 defender in this draft.
He just doesn't provide much going forward, he's got a good long leg on him but doesn't use it much.
Van Es' rebounding abilities are limited. I'd like to say that I havent enough of him doing that rather than saying he's poor in that department. Maybe a coach that backs him in might make him better offensively.
But I think the best part of him is that his defensive ability is really good 1v1...
Darcy Jones, Van Es and Ethan Phillips would be amazing but I doubt we do that/get that lucky.
The ones I'd be targetting with our picks are Jones, Barnett, Van Es, Charlie Clarke, Phillips, Hugh Davies, Lemmey
Imo KPD and Ruck should be our main priorities. But if Barnett isn't at our pick...
He's got a lot of strengths that align with what we're missing in defence but perhaps what he hasn't done is use his speed and athleticism to impact contests. That's perhaps the upside he has when he's under a proper development system but I'm keen on him because his strengths match what we're...
I suspect Brisbane will try and get more picks given they only have 2200ish points. They'll need around 3300 points to not take a deficit. If they do manage to get more picks then I suspect there maybe more than 6 picks for them to use up before our pick 60
Essendon will use 2 before 60 and...
If Esava doesn't arrive, we have to take Van Es with 33. It might be a touch early for him but he's probably not entered that range on the back of his draft combine and we badly need a KPD.
I'm finding it hard to predict who could be available at 60 (which will become early 50s after bids I...
