Mega Thread Port Forum General AFL Thread Part 27

Jeez I didn't think Crouch's hit was too much worse as he also still had eyes on the ball. I guess it conceded a free though that's the main difference. Neither bump deserved a suspension but I hope they uphold the Crouch ban anyways just to see the cow fans melt.

    MRP / Trib. MRP and Tribunal - 2024 - Rd 5 - Charlie Cameron 1 week?

As a port fan... yeah Crouch should've probably gotton off as well. Both him and butters had their eyes on the ball so neither of them should've faced suspension. I reckon they frowned more at Crouch's hit because it resulted in a delay of game and also conceded a free kick.

Preview Preview and Changes: Round 6 - Port v Collingwood

Ben Dixon was doing everything he could to hang him out to try in the post-game show on fox last night. Still hates Port for all the times we flogged him in the 2000s Kornes said that neither him or Matt Crouch should get suspended which I'd say I agree with. Both had their eyes on the ball.

    Analysis Inside 50s into goals

Not that I'm sticking up for Hinkleyball or anything but what else did you expect from a Freo game? They always try to grind the game to a halt with an extra behind the ball and insane ground pressure. Hardly gives our forwards a great look at it.

Review Round 5, 2024 vs Fremantle

The GOOD -JHF defeats Freo and Hinkleyball. Jase Burgoyne had arguably his breakout game Soldo was at times poor around the ground but still hits out to advantage and already has good chemistry with the mids Berger Man has the oven mits in this team. Great marking skills under pressure -Esava...

How tf do people even track down Jez's address? I would've thought that the living locations for players and coaches are kept discreet. Then again we did have that drive by racist pull up at Eddie Betts' house only a few weeks ago so maybe it's not as hard as it should be. Except for Kenny of...

Rumour Jeremy Finlayson under investigation - 3 game suspension

People unironically attempting to compare this to the Taylor Walker incident  Taylor Walker did not turn himself after his comments and it actually required other ears within the club to report it to staff and eventually turn it over to the AFLs hands. Jeremy Finlayson alerted the...

Player Watch Pick #5 (2018) - Connor Rozee (AFL Captain)

If your worst performances as a player are still worth about a 7/10 then you're collectively a pretty dam good player. He'll definitely still have some quiet games to come but i'm not expecting 10 votes from him every week especially with Butters, JHF & even Drew pinching them.

Player Watch Lcoemwe to Port Adelaide Ivan Soldo

Did an awesome job covering solo to beat their dual-ruck combination, albiet against a dead Goldstein corpse and an injured Draper. Another big test coming up against Luke Jackson next week. Potentially Sean Darcy too.

Player Watch Pick #5 (2018) - Connor Rozee (AFL Captain)

I think it's a bit harsh to call his last fortnight disappointing before this game. He still polled coaches votes in both round 2 & 3. Now most likely with 2 10 vote performances to pair with it as well. Even on his bad days he will still likely pull votes in most of his games this year.

Review Gather Round 2024 vs Essendon

That's the type of win I wish we could see almost 15 times a season every year. 69 isn't a massive margin but strangling the opposition into only giving 6 goals is a fantastic defensive effort and exactly what we need with all the KPDs we got in. The GOOD - Rozee an early AA captain contender...

Aiight: The Good??? -Willy Drew is an absolute beast and even with a loopy kicking style I still trust his inside 50 entries more than most of the other mids -Esava reads the ball well and outside of one major brain fade was consistently competitive the whole night. All of our KPDs have had at...

Roast We need to talk about Lachie

Considering that old mate Bonner just had a record amount of turnovers with the Aints then I'd still say that Jones is a way better ball user than either him or Pittard. It was purely just the constant dropped marks that was the difference between him being one of our better defenders on the...

6 day break isn't a long enough turnaround so probably for the best to give him an extra week anyway and deploy him alongside SPP the following game.

Coach Ken Hinkley - 250 games as Port coach

Nope! Luve Bevo has only missed the finals three times in 9 years. Ken missed the finals in 4 out of 5 seasons between 2015-2019 and has only a 6/11 finals return overall. Melbourne finished 17th in 2019 and won a flag 2 years later. Collingwood finished 17th in 2021 and won a flag 2 years...

Jesus this thread haha Taper is always the one starting Ken related threads on the main board. He's probably made almost 20 now in the past year. And notice how the only people defending Ken in this thread are NOT Port supporters. I wonder why that would be? It's pretty clear that...

Toast Warren Tredrea - Elected to the Port Board (Football discussion only)

Considering that interacting directly with the players is a daily requirement of a coaches job and less common with board members then I think it's reasonable to expect that the coaches are more likely to turn up. It's probably also worth considering if Tredders was working at all with fiveAA on...

Do we rule out the possibility that he didn't attend to Boakys celebrations because he's an employed board member and probably doing more pressing stuff with the administration?
