    Review 2025 National Draft Thread | Dovaston #16 / Thredgold #26 / Mikunda #48

Just like in 2022 when you claimed it was a disaster not selecting key forward Harry Lemmey in the 40s. The same Harry Lemmey delisted by Carlton

He looks this height when playing. Towers above others, not sure if it's his leap or wingspan, but he looks much taller than 194cm

    Review 2025 National Draft Thread | Dovaston #16 / Thredgold #26 / Mikunda #48

Thredgold does remind me a lot of a taller Josh Weddle. Takes intercept marks and just takes off with rapid pace. Not the best user but does have a booming kick to clear a line. Don't really need a quick half back flanker when your CHB can break lines like he can. Looks elite in the air too...

Would we select Sharp? Surely melts if we pick another pure mid

Lindsay's ball drop is also very quick from a low point which helps him to distribute quickly. I'm blown away by not just the accuracy of his kicks, but how perfectly weighted they are. He'll kick it just over an opposition player to a marking point that only his teammate can reach on the lead...

Glad to hear we are putting the work into Josh Lindsay.

Oskar definitely elite in pace off the mark and agility. Would you consider Lindsay's times of 3.08 and 8.7 as bad or average?

Thanks for that. That footage is definitely better than others I've seen. Still some problematic disposals in there where he almost turns it over directly to an oppo player. How does Josh Lindsay's athletic profile/combine stats compare to Oskar Taylor's? Josh Lindsay has some of the best...

Do you have footage you recommend? From what I've seen he looks very average by foot.

List Mgmt. 2025 Trade & List Management Thread - Part II [Spargo ✅ Maley->Adelaide✅]

He is. I stand by that if he put the work in he could still be our best player in a few years time.

List Mgmt. 2025 Trade & List Management Thread - Part II [Spargo ✅ Maley->Adelaide✅]

If this is the post you're referencing, it is mentioning our possible interest in Seamus Mitchell, not Hustwaite. And he mentions it's just his opinion, not based on any intel.

Player Watch #12: Jy Simpkin [Part II] - staying at North in 2026 + won't feature in leadership group as Larkey set to be named captain

People celebrating, we may end up paying half his contract and getting a pick 20 something and end up picking a player that plays less than 5 games, while we lose midfield depth, leadership, training standards and the right age bracket. Could be a disaster

List Mgmt. 2025 Trade & List Management Thread

Their first round picks are 4 and 5. That's a big difference between a pick 16 or so. You'd take that

Player Watch #12: Jy Simpkin - [The Age] Jy's mgmt have sounded clubs out about their interest in Jy as he wants more midfield time

Jy is a captain and 2 x BnF winner in his peak age bracket. Caddy has potential but is young and mostly unproven. I wouldn't give up Pick 21.

Coach Alastair Clarkson - NMFC Senior Coach - Coaching & Football Discussion

We should stick with him for another 2 years though because stability. Everyone knows stability automatically means improvement. As the ol saying goes "if it is broke, don't fix it"

Coach Alastair Clarkson - NMFC Senior Coach - Coaching & Football Discussion

I don't buy into the whole "North have chewed through so many coaches" argument. Since Brad Scott, we had Rhyce Shaw who was a caretaker coach, that ended up becoming a permanent coach. Not sure if that was the right move but we were unlucky with how that ended although they probably could have...

Coach Alastair Clarkson - NMFC Senior Coach - Coaching & Football Discussion

Nope, I've seen some of the best raw talent walk through this door in the last few years. It may not always show on field but our coach can not get the best out of players and can not deliver a gameplan that holds up and suits the list we have. He does not drive the standards required. 2nd...

Coach Alastair Clarkson - NMFC Senior Coach - Coaching & Football Discussion

I've been saying he should be sacked since round 6, and been dragged for it. Eventually everyone will come round. He has been washed since before he came across but we hoped a fresh start would get him back to his best. He has underperformed massively for a coach of his caliber with 3 years in...

Welcome to the Bulldogs Sam Darcy

Doggies are my second team and I decided to jump on the bandwagon a bit more this year so I could actually enjoy some footy for the first time in many years. Last night was the first game I watched and I thought I had transferred my North curse to the Dogs. So relieved he has escaped an ACL...

Coach Alastair Clarkson - NMFC Senior Coach - Coaching & Football Discussion

The harsh reality is we got duped again. We got duped by Paul Roos convincing us to take David Noble which set us back, and we got duped by taking one of the biggest names in coaching in Clarko, but he was past his prime. It was obvious the game had gone past him towards the end of his tenure at...

Game Day Community Series. North Melbourne v wc Saturday 1/3/25 Bunbury WA

I'm actually gobsmacked that people are talking about how shit McKercher's skills are after 2 pre season games for a 19 year old. Last season he was considered top 3 best ball users at our club. Below are the stats to prove it. Even more impressive for a first year player.

Game Day Community Series. North Melbourne v wc Saturday 1/3/25 Bunbury WA

Thought there was great signs, especially coming off last week's performance. We left so many goals out there it isn't funny, and we gifted them some of the easiest goals with terrible turnovers. Plus umpires went against us a fair bit at both ends. Which resulted in goals from them and took...

FOS to half back should have been the move since day 1 pre season. Better defender than Sheez and Kerch. Great mark. 2 intercept marks already
