Maybe. Not that many clubs are running with a tagger - though it seems to be getting more common. I guess even fewer are running with taggers who dont have the talent to be a midfielder themselves, which is I suppose why we've tried to use players like Peatling. I don't hate the idea of Bond... -

They've also changed the rules, haven't they - I think someone now needs to be in your academy since being 15, so you can't do a Cochrane scam anymore. I think we're wasting energy on this. It's far more likely that Plugger misunderstood what he was told (no disrespect, mate), or it's a family... -

I'm not sure if Scully should be the target? It adds to the Maley/TMurray logjam - unless we feel he's vastly better? I like Mutineer's suggestion of Fahey, or maybe even Jack Cook. -

The biggest reason they don't do it is because it's seen to be too advantageous for VIC clubs. They'll find it far easier to convince a player to change clubs midyear than "interstate" clubs will. -

I think the cover-up is the fact that, as the game went on, they DID notice and took him off. What did they suspect and when? But it looked odd, not obvious. The weird running patterns and the jerky way he was over-gesturing. I guess I'm more talking about the people who have said they... -

I think it was his willingness to be a straight line runner, and the fact it's an easier position to play while you're still developing. I don't know if we ultimately felt he'd be that long-term. -

Yep, and about a dozen times he mentioned how excited and happy he was. You sure he's not just saying that he had a wake-up call about what was involved? I'm sure a lot of kids come in and get a bit of shock. He's now got some good size and is playing the role we'd want him in going forward. -

Because it's vastly the most likely outcome, same as it was with Worrell. Fans get upset when the kids don't get debuted immediately, but the players themselves know that they're teenagers within a professional environment, and that they're being supported to develop to their best possible... -

He did say when he was drafted he knew he was coming from a fair way back. I think you're jumping at shadows. Pretty much everything he said was about being elated and being thankful towards the club. Maybe he goes home at some stage but I don't see any issues there at the moment. -
