We really need some quality, young, inside midfielders to build the next core around. Problem is you don't get access to them unless you finish near the bottom of the ladder.
SDK must play 15-20 games next year.
Same for Evans.
Keep some senior guys on to give some of the youngsters a chop...
Unfortunately Vdubs when you have a negative finals record as we do since 2012 then the excuses are empty and come to be treated with cynicism. I mean, why does it always happen to us?
I agree they were impressive, but like Melbourne, they've both had access to some exceptional talent over the past 10 years as a result of many low ladder finishes. You can't say that about us (at least through the draft).
To say what happened last night is extremely disappointing would be an understatement.
Melbourne were just way too good, we were terrible.
Premierships are so hard to win, you can forgive the club for trying to do so while we great players like Selwood, Hawkins and Harry.
We now desperately...
I take it as a good sign.
I remember in 2012 he tipped Sydney and then in 2014 he tipped the Hawks based on them both being the best 'teams' in the grand final. While he didn't use that specific point in his article it probably goes to his line of thinking.
Aren't there only a handful of players from the 2009 team who didn't make All Australian at some point of their careers?
Varcoe, Blake, Byrnes, Rooke and Wojcinski are the only ones I can think of.
It's tough brother but we have to support our team and club in the good times and the bad. Get to the MCG and do a bit of yelling. I'll see you in the AFL members. As to back up plans, well there's always that expensive beer!
Yes you're right.
Unless we're in the inner sanctum we have no idea what he said behind closed doors. Maybe he has taken responsibility about his coaching. Maybe at times the coaches' instructions weren't carried out.
All well and good but our players have to use their heads going inside 50. Kicking to leads isn't our strong suit. The bomb works when it is to our advantage, not at every opportunity.
As catempire pointed out, how is Scott responsible for our contested ball numbers, kicking efficiency, inside 50 count and inside 50 tackles? Fair enough the Menzel non selection can be a criticism given we lost but we don't know if gameplan instructions were followed.
After the way we played and after seeing Sydney play you would think we have no chance.
But get the 'G to support our team and club and make some noise.
In our last encounter with the Swans, while we were blown away early, we were in the game for the middle two quarters until the umps killed...
Given how we played last night we are no chance. And yet I think we are more of a chance with Sydney at full strength and raging favorites than if they (or any other team) are depleted.
Did Turnbull or Dutton state in parliament that there was no people swap?
Or is ok now to mislead parliament?
'Honorable' members and ministerial responsibility, indeed.
