    Kennedy's Marking

I'm certainly not having a go at him but did anybody else think that Kennedy dropped/missed a few too many marks last night? We know he can take strong grabs but last night he just seemed incapable of holding onto anything. Was it poor delivery, good defending or just an off night? I know he is...

Naitanui breaks the record for most hard ball gets

I heard on the radio that Naitanui had something like 14 hard ball gets and 20 contested possessions, an AFL record. Can anyone confirm this?

    Operation: "Win Flag #4"

A large number of our 2006 team is now gone or seemingly not in our future calculations. Most fans believe the club is well on the way to building for a shot at our next flag after two years "rebuilding". 2-3 years is the timeline quoted by most until we may have another shot. But I'm skeptical...

Do you think there is actually a recovery?

Despite all these so called "studies" coming out saying that all the signs are improving, the reserve lifting interest rates, the share market bouncing back, supposed new mining/housing boom does anyone else think we've popped the champagne too early? I'm certainly no economic expert but I'm...

Opinion Champions at one club who had a short stint at another

I'll start off with a few. Gary Ablett Snr - played an unsuccessful season or two for Hawthorn before joining Geelong. Wayne Carey - Traded to Adelaide after a certain incident. Ben Cousins

    Aflpa mvp 2009

Who will win? Gazza has won the last two years but might have some competition this year. Ablett, Riewoldt, Swan, Selwood, Judd, Hayes, Dal Santo, Brown the main contenders?

    Adelaide's mids vs. Hawthorn's mids

According to (I think) David Parkin last night Adelaide had 12 players running through the midfield and Hawthorn had 13. He broke them up like this. Adelaide: 6 A-Graders, 6 B-Grader Hawthorn: 5 A-Graders, 1 B-Grader, 7 C-Graders I thought it was an interesting "stat" for comparing midfield...

Which one player is most important to our future success?

If you could choose one player out of our current squad to become elite, who would it be? I would choose Tommy Swift, you need elite mids to become a great team, even if you don't have superstars everywhere else. I was thinking Naitanui, Kennedy or Hurn if not him.

    Dreamteam in 2011

Having 1 on 1 games with your mates is a really exciting part of DT (it's the reason I play) but how will Dreamteam work once the Gold Coast comes in? Having leagues and eliminator games won't really work as one or more teams may have a bye on each weekend. What if half your team (or Ablett...

    Swift set to replace Staker!!!!!

WEST Coast looks set to introduce more youth following Brent Staker's six-week hand injury, with exciting draftee Tom Swift in the selection mix for this Sunday's clash with Melbourne. http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/76249/default.aspx

Would Ben Cousins have been enough to make the Saints a real Premiership threat?

Would Ben Cousins have been enough to make the Saints a real Premiership threat? Or is there midfield good enough without him? Or are they no chance either way? If Cuz gets back and has a really good season and the Saints lose in the Prelim again or maybe even in the GF how do you think they...

    WAFL - Round 4

Some good games this weekend, especially looking forward to Claremont vs. East Fremantle (mainly coz I can walk down and watch it). Swift will be up against two other players I'd love to see at the Eagles next year in Lucas and Sheppard as well as Houlihan and Kennedy. Hopefully his teammates...

    Our Rolling Zone

Everyone has been talking about the rolling zone all summer, but now the season's started it's hardly been mentioned at all. However it seems as if we are employing it better than anyone except Hawthorn so far this year, with both Port and Brisbane really struggling to penetrate it at the start...

    Crowds in 2009

How do you think the Eagles will go for home game crowds this year, given the GFC and we are coming off a 15th placed finish last season? Also according to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Coast_Eagles#cite_note-23 the average crowd was only about 34500 last year but I don't think...

    Watts and Riewoldt

Say I had magical powers and I came to you as a Melbourne supporter and gave you two options: 1. Watts will guaranteed become as a good a player and be as successful as Nick Riewoldt (without being a clone of him). 2. Watts will continue his current development and maybe be better than Carey...

    Numbers Available for 2009

Numbers available are 3,9,10,15,22,33,35,40 and 46 3 and 9 probably won't be used this year. Beau Wilkes and Brett Jones might go for a new number?? Not really many good ones available for our draftees. Expect 5, 7 and 14 to become free in the next year or two but the others look pretty set...
