Toast Tasmania Officially Entering the Competition :tasmania:

Yep. I grew up in Tasmania, although in the North. Night games there are bad enough but Bellerive isn't that great even during the day. A slight breeze and it's an unpleasant ground to be at and that's during the daytime. I can certainly understand why the AFL demanded a new stadium to permit...

Analysis The Rebuilds of West Coast and Richmond and their Future Prospects

I don't think any team will have a 1 win season again. Having said that, despite less wins I felt much better about the direction of the club this year than I did at the end of 2024.

Analysis The Rebuilds of West Coast and Richmond and their Future Prospects

Yepa and that's the point. Last year our senior players were miles better. We even had 2 in the AA team. Richmond supporters seem to be living in the moment and have seemingly convinced themselves the rebuild's over from all the Vic media glazing. There's still a long way to go.

Analysis The Rebuilds of West Coast and Richmond and their Future Prospects

Oh only Jeremy McGovern(Winner), Yeo(2nd, didn't play a game after preseason injury) and Waterman(3rd, shoulder reconstructed after injured in rnd 8). Then of the rest of the top 10: Barrass - traded Cole - Fell off a cliff/sent to WAFL. Kelly - Fell off a cliff/played WAFL. Of our top 10...

    Still younger than Richmond.

Yeah, we thought the same until they all got injured/medically retired/fell off the cliff in 12 months.

Analysis The Rebuilds of West Coast and Richmond and their Future Prospects

Not really. you're not even close enough to having turned your list over. As I said, you're in a similar position this year as we were in last year. Even your number of wins were the same. I'd say the only real major plus is that Taranto's still relatively young. It'll be a lot slower climb than...

Analysis The Rebuilds of West Coast and Richmond and their Future Prospects

3 of your best players all walked out last year though? The only good players worth keeping of your list were McGovern, Yeo and Barrass and one was medically retired, whilst Yeo's still on the list. Richmond's BnF results this year were strikingly familiar to WCE's last year, whilst not having...

Analysis The Rebuilds of West Coast and Richmond and their Future Prospects

Cut what players? WCE's criticism is they hung onto those player way too long. The only one of note out of that list you posted would've been Barrass but if we kept him, that meant losing Harry Edwards, meaning our only KPD of note would've been 30yo going into next year. I seriously can't...

Toast Tasmania Officially Entering the Competition :tasmania:

Whilst I agree they shouldn't be spending the money they can't afford, I have to clarify that Bellerive is a cesspit. York Park is way better but neither stadium should be hosting night games. It gets to -2 at 7pm sometimes

I have to admit, it's been a while since I've seen a burn this sick on this forum. Good to cut them tall poppies down nice and early. AmIRite Bender_?

Training Preseason Training Thread - 2026

Other way around. It's quite easy for 2nd year players to have the tank to run up and down the ground all game but it's a bigger issue when they don't have the size to compete for a full game at stoppage. It's basically what made Harley so unique in that regard. They also see him long term as...

Delisted Callum Ah Chee - Joins Adelaide via the PSD

How many points on a graph do you need to realise something?

Delisted Callum Ah Chee - Joins Adelaide via the PSD

It's probably more likely Swann said we would get nothing if Starcevich went to the PSD, as he wanted to pull a PP out of thin air for his old club.

Delisted Callum Ah Chee - Joins Adelaide via the PSD

I reckon we probably should've got Trevor Nisbett to decide the compo instead of Greg Swann manufacturing a first rounder for Brisbane, tbh.

Delisted Callum Ah Chee - Joins Adelaide via the PSD

I mean, the AFL could've just not penalised our OA compo, considering Brisbane wouldn't have got anything either way. Keep telling yourself your current and future success wasn't deliberately manufactured by the AFL though, I guess.

Delisted Callum Ah Chee - Joins Adelaide via the PSD

If Ashcroft were to leave, Brisbane would probably get nothing again because Dom would demand top 4 10 picks and refuse 3. That'll show 'em not to mess with Dom! Yes, yes. Must be nice for the AFL to parachute and entire off-field football department and change the draft rules to specifically...

Yeah, I would've got your club draft picks instead of nothing. Lucky Brisbane

I'm feeling good about next season so I'll pick the guy whose surname indicates our probably ladder finish. Malakai Champion. TY24 your turn.

It was totally fair for an uncontracted player of Ah Chee's calibre.

Do Collingwood need to enter a rebuild phase?

Sure but we had similar with O'Brien(although he started a decade earlier at WCE than Hine did at the Pies) and generally, people in the same role for such a long time really struggle to adapt when things change. Same reason Nisbett should've been moved on a long time earlier and why Eddie...

Do Collingwood need to enter a rebuild phase?

Well, as I said in a previous post, Hine should've been shown the boot a lot earlier, as he'd had way too many missed in the draft prior to that.
