I said to my wife in the warm up that Eric looked off. Nervy and no confidence. Sadly I was 100% right - he was next to no use to us all day. I think the GF will either be the making or the breaking of him.
I have been hunting without success for the schedule for GF Day. I know I saw it recently! Just the times of when the gates open, what time the entertainment starts etc. Thought it would be on the AFL site, but can't see it!
Do you really believe that 95% of the issues would disappear if our national day was moved by a week? The 26th of January was picked once upon a time, too. The fleet arrived prior to that.
So, Australia Day is nearly here again, and the comments are already starting to ramp up - with one exception: I've yet to see a better date put forward. My two cents is that until we sign a treaty with our First Nation people and can use that day as our national day, then let's leave it as is...
Thanks for the help! I've finally booked a ticket. The booking site requires a password for Brisbane FC members to get a cheaper ticket. The Club had zero idea about any of it. I was able to speak to Frankston who told me the password is simply 'brisbanefc' (all lower case, all one word). Now...
Just spent half an hour going in circles trying to find out how to attend the game versus Frankston tomorrow night. Dead set - why is it so hard?? Most sports globally have a flourishing 2nd tier comp, the AFL barely acknowledges it even has one! The Lions website doesn't help, the AFL website...
Hi everyone! I recently came across the attached record for a practice match between the Lions and the Saints. I've been able to find out that the Lions won, but would love to find out the actual score as well as any other details. I'd really appreciate any help :-)
I've been able to locate a little more information in Mark Opolion's A Decade of Pride. On page 17 he notes that the Lions lost the game against the Swans 16.6.102 to 8.8.56 and that this was the first practice match. The second practice match against the Saints was a 30 point win and Lynch...
Hi everyone!
Came across this recently and am really struggling to find any details online. Is anyone able to shed some light on the results? From what I have been able to find, the Lions played the Swans in a practice match in Wagga Wagga as well as this game at Merimbula. I'd love to learn...
Just emailed the club to cancel my AFLW memberships. I've supported the women's team since day 1 and had a membership every year, even though it was free entry. The Club offered a 'Captain's Circle' foundation membership to those who signed on year one and it was meant to be this exclusive...
Don't quote me, but I'm pretty sure that we're getting very little / nothing at all from a physical membership pack point of view. When I spoke to the Club about my rollover I had to nominate a 'novelty' card to be added as, at that time, they weren't sending actual cards out. Something to do...
Hi!
I'm updating / annotating some of my old Michael Voss cards and was wondering if anyone here could please help me identify the two Bears players standing and watching the marking contest? If it helps, the match was Round 7, 1993 against the Hawks at Waverley.
Thanks!
Hi everyone!
I'm spending some time updating my Brisbane collection and was hoping someone here could help me identify the St Kilda player on this Michael Voss sticker from 1995?
Thank you!
Hi LI,
Just wanted to flag with the Club my disappointment that the AFLW Captains Circle membership is more than double the standard membership for 2020. Given that the CC membership is about recognizing foundation AFLW members; charging $80 more for a pin, a letter from the captain and some...
Nice to see someone coming up to join in the fun!

A more 'senior' player to help the young players we have (and will draft) is a smart move, I reckon.
She's been doing some media work lately; perhaps there's an offer in Melbourne that appeals? She's also a teacher, maybe there's a new school job on offer too?
One part that feels wrong is the "player moving as pay is low" explanation. Is there any way Katie Brennan or Brianna Davey wouldn't get paid the same at their current club or be able to do their day jobs?
Just floored by the announcements. Year on year we loose the players that are the face of the club - Kaslar and Virgo? Capt and bloody vice captain? Amazing. Remember this pic from the league launch?
Sab? Gone. Tayla? Gone. If Katie Mac does leave then I might just have to take a break from AFLW.
Went to the game yesterday convinced the girls would roll the Pies. Apparently our girls did too, because from the first bounce they seemed shocked that Collingwood were putting up a fight. We had far too many players balking from giving a sheppard, putting their head over the pill or simply...
