McKay if you are comparing him to his last 2 years. Also Gov before he got injured. Walsh showing signs although it's only 2 games. TDK showing he can hold down no.1 ruck spot.
If you want to do well in this game its less about making bold calls and taking big risks and more about consistently making sensible decisions. Might not work out all the time but over the season you will end up ahead.
The risk of keeping Kerch with that 4 (or whatever is was) in his system...
It'll be interesting what happens if he, Martin and to a less extent Cunners (given he has only missed a few weeks so far) come good at the backend of the season again. Its saved Marchbank and Cunningham the last 2 years. If their seasons happened the other way around (played early then...
That update is just embarrasing.
Motlop redone hamstring. Going to end up missing 12 weeks with a stubbed toe.
Now Marchy has a transverse fracture (no idea what that is but never mentioned before) . I think we just need to put a line through him no matter what happens now.
Non committal...
Yeah, I agree. Feel our system looks a lot more solid this year. Moving the ball much better and look the more dangerous team even when not dominating the game. The fact our victories (and one loss) have been so narrow is more down to oppopsition (Brisbane & Freo) and not taking advantage of our...
Yeah, I'm not sure about that. Nothing wrong with everything you have written in isolation but using that logic you could explain away almost anything.
Going by what's been posted on this forum the strength and conditioning team have no accountability if it's a contact injury. Thats just luck...
This is the issue with the conservative approach taken with some of these injury prone guys. They already get injured all the time but because of their history we need to ease them back. So now a regulation hamstring for Martin means 6-8 weeks while it would be 2-3 for another player. It's not...
I guess the thing you could say with Butters is both players arrived at the same time. It was incidental that his hip made contact with the other player.
Crouch on the other hand was 2nd to the ball so had a duty of care to Carroll who already had his head over the ball
Clark is a really disappointing player for a top 10 pick. Will probably still be a solid player but doubt he turns into the type of player you use that pick on.
Not mentioned in this thread yet but you'd think Matt Crouch is almost definately gone for his bump on Jack Carroll.
Feel for him as he was only marginally late but Carroll's head was over the ball. Crouch turns side on and collects him pretty hard.
They will argue he was just contesting the...
I'm not saying we should stop doing it. Could be worse without it. But I'm not desperate to celebrate it either.
The aim of being conservative is to have less injuries. If you don't have a reduction in injuries you just end up with players missing more weeks through conservative management...
I specifically brought him in after round 2 to cover the byes. Has been very disappointing.
Seems a waste to trade him as he'll be a forward keeper but he has alot of money sitting on his head. Can get much better for his price
Whether it's Russell's fault or not we aren't winning a flag with this many injuries. Need to get on top of it. Being conservative if that's what we're doing isn't helping.
You have to give it to our strength and conditioning team. We have a spectacular ability to get injuries between games (during training).
Hopefully it doesn't cost us. Feel like our depth is getting to the edge of the cliff. But I have felt like that a few times and we've come through so...
It's a good sign that Ben was straight into the middle in Q1 along with Lombard and Ashcroft 2 other top 5 prospects. Most these kids would be playing onball for their clubs but only the cream get to for the rep sides.
