You are right, he is 30 but turns 31 in June. My question relates to what would he be worth, IF he says “I want to move to Sydney” as is the rumour. I think Rendell’s suggestion of Papley + Sydney’s first rounder is way over the top.
Methinks Matt Randell and Adrian Dodo have a lot in common. As great as Dusty has been, and still is, you’d be mad to trade a first rounder and established, first 18 player for a 33yo in the twilight of his career.
What is he worth?
The number of assumptions in built into this point of view is staggering. He does realize that drug and alcohol abuse is as high in private schools than public, surely?
Not sure what the stats are wrt to family breakups and teenage suicide but I’d suggest they would be similar irrespective of...
Surely there would be a trade on the table from the Crows to the wooden spooner involving their pick (3 or 4) plus something (eg McAsey/second rounder/etc). Horne is just so exactly what they want and need and you’d think they will be willing to trade a lot to upgrade their pick. North or...
Watching King, Hudson and Brereton for the pregame show discussing Robbie Gray and tossing around the question is he the greatest player to play for this club. Morons then clarified as the “AFL version of the club”... Can you imagine Dermie splitting the history of Hawthorn or King the...
Notwithstanding my dislike of Sturt, I am sympathetic to their position in this one. It is a significant disruption to the clubs who have had players taken from them midway through a season. It makes a mockery of the lower leagues.
Will be more frustrating when almost none of those players...

Phew, glad that is sorted out and it turns out the Croms were actually able to get their sub into the field faster than expected. Gold standard as always.
Unless, of course, they have a draw. But yes, likely one will be 0-2 and I believe there is a crazy stat that no-one has won an AFL flag after starting the season 0-2...
Regarding Essendon’s reported demands for Fantasia, this may be a bit like us rejecting North’s offers for Ben Jacobs. They may (or may not) have been suitable/fair but they were effectively worthless to us. If Essendon regard our pick in the late 20s as being almost worthless then they will...
Well, only Watts was a trade and that was a second round pick. Other two were free agents. If your question is about salary cap then answer is not much. Port have cap space.
Obviously, the later trades/uncontracted pick ups aren’t really a factor - they were all one year contracts to provide...
Bemused by Chris McDermotts piece in today's Sunday Mail bemoaning the lack of apparent activity by both SA clubs in the trade period.
I wonder if the media folks truly believe half the stuff they publish? He views the opinion that trade week is the time premierships are won - and with both...
Fair point, Portia - I'll pay that and agree that we have fallen into the safe play wrt to trading and aggressively looking to get into the draft earlier - or conversely chasing mature KPFs with picks (I may regret my call, but I think trading hard for Charlie Dixon was a good call).
I suppose...
Easy to say, but hard to find a way that could have been avoided. We had a sustained period where our picks had us having to be speculative on potential KPFs and we bombed with the gambles we took (Butcher being one, Willots another). Heck, even Lobbe was taken with a first round tip as a...
