Looks like the sort who'd have his sock drawer sorted by size and colour. Not that there would be too much colour mind you, mostly sensible greys and blacks I imagine.
Suns will be desperate to prove their finals credentials with a scalp on the road. They've done it here before and have the midfield cattle to worry us again.
Don't care how we look doing it, I'll just be very happy with a win here.
Under most circumstances it probably should be. But given our lack of tall forward depth I wouldn't blame the club for keeping him on the list a little longer if he can get back at some stage this year.
Yeah, maybe I underestimate our own midfield a bit, but theirs going head to head with ours worries me. Rowell is an absolute beast and there's not much you can do to stop his influence. He can dish the ball out from anywhere.
This will be a very tough game.
I'm not expecting us to look great...
Yep, about 10 years overdue. It's just ridiculous now. We neither want to see a player miss out on a brownlow because of accidental contact, nor conversely see some players receive penalties and others not based on their brownlow favourtism.
It's amazing how reactionary and in favour of...
The problem here is your expectations. I have no idea why anyone thought Hawthorn would be playing finals this year.
At best I thought they'd win 7 or 8 games and get out of the bottom 4. A long term rebuild is what's required there.
They're going to be really looking to prove that they can win on the road since it's been a big knock on their finals credentials. Would be nice if they picked someone else to prove it on this time though.
200th Game for Grundy and the 50 for Logan will hopefully give us a bit of motivation.
I don't think there's much more to it than a number of old die hard south supporters and their offspring reside here. I'm 4th generation and my kids now support the swans too.
In any kind of success it's human nature to overestimate skill and downplay luck when looking back.
He's clearly a very good coach, but there's obviously an element of luck around the staff, players, resources, injuries that factor into it as well.
He should be able to get north competitive...
Almost every premiership team has needed a bit of luck with injuries to get there. They have most of their gun players on the park still but I reckon the length of their injury list will really test them out.
That part gets overlooked a bit. He's just about the most damaging player in the comp with ball in hand right now but also putting in defensively too.
I still can't get my head around how he's suddenly become the player we're all watching right now
This is something pretty much all top 6 or so clubs supporters whine about. It basically equates to "why doesn't our team win every single game instead of just most of them"
I think Gunston was a superior player but I put them in a similar category as players who can have scoreboard impact with few opportunities.
Forwards like that can be a bit underrated but to have a player who rarely wastes an opportunity inside 50 is pretty valuable IMO. Few things more...
I wasn't stating anything about our credentials, just pointing out the error. Given that he was using it as his basis for Melbourne being the form team in the comp it seemed important to mention.
I know some will disagree and say that it's black and white and that a homophobic slur is a homophobic slur but I think what Finlayson said is far worse. It's clearly a derogatory term meant to denigrate and insult homosexuals.
The term Clarkson used, while I can see why some consider it...
I'd think it would be a bit more than that. He was a top 10 player in the comp last year at the age of 21 and predictions are that the league will have around 70 to 80 1mil per year players within the next few years with the new CBA. I think he'd be one of those players.
