Religion The Bible: Literal, figurative, bulldust?

Why don’t you answer the question? How do you know there is ONE god, as you have claimed?

Religion The Bible: Literal, figurative, bulldust?

    How do you know this?

That may make it credible to them, but the comment that I was replying to seemed to be implying that the claims made about it (authorship, accuracy, historicty) should be credible to all. The entirety of the Bible is claimed by some on here to be more than it is. Inerrant. Literal. Historical.

Credible in terms of what? Who are these Biblical scholars? Are they merely apologists with theology degrees or doctorates or they actual historians?

MRP / Trib. Charlie Cameron gets a week for dumping tackle on Lever - Tribunal = down to a fine.

This is exactly the problem I have with it as well. Just adds to the inconsistency of decision making from the MRO, the tribunal and by extension the AFL which is frustrating for observers.

Religion The Bible: Literal, figurative, bulldust?

They may not have known the 'true' story, written 600-800 years after the events it purports to describe are supposed to have occurred. The Septuagint (Greek translation of the Hebrew) translates Exodus 12:40 this way: 'Now the sojourning of the children of Israel that dwelt in the land of...

Possibly. There is no evidence that this is actually true. This is yet another unsubstantiated claim by you.

Religion The Bible: Literal, figurative, bulldust?

Your claim to one god is unsubtantiated. I see no reason to accept your premise.
  10. Roylion

Religion The Bible: Literal, figurative, bulldust?

Ok. So where's the supporting evidence for that?
  11. Roylion

Religion The Bible: Literal, figurative, bulldust?

Of course they exaggerate. However there are other sources that support the actual event of the Persians invading Greece. No other extra-biblical source supports the historicity of the Exodus - where a enslaved people called the 'Israelites' leave Egypt after a series of plagues, wander the...

Religion The Bible: Literal, figurative, bulldust?

Of course there were large floods. But no global flood There's no evidence to support an Exodus. These ancient accounts are claimed as literal (i.e historical) events. Then perhaps those 'exaggerations' and 'hyperbole' shouldn't be claimed as fact. Refuting claims to fact without the...

Based on the weight of empirical evidence in support. The findings of genetics, geology and archaeology for example. They have refuted Adam and Eve and the Great Flood outright and placed a huge amount of doubt on the historicity of the Exodus. Feel free to present evidence to the contrary...

Religion The Bible: Literal, figurative, bulldust?

Historians and archaeologists attempt to establish the truth to claims to the historicity of events described in the Bible.

    It’s not really for them.
  16. Roylion

Religion The Bible: Literal, figurative, bulldust?

 Sure you do. Like the flimsy evidence you provided for the historicity of the Exodus?
  17. Roylion

Religion The Bible: Literal, figurative, bulldust?

The Gospel of Roylion is always accurate. You might say inerrant.
  18. Roylion

Genetic impossibility. Do a search and read it.
  19. Roylion

Religion The Bible: Literal, figurative, bulldust?

Not in the case of a first couple. Genetically impossible, as has already been explained. Do a search and read it.

Religion The Bible: Literal, figurative, bulldust?

Well you should read it. And have a little faith as you do.

Religion The Bible: Literal, figurative, bulldust?

Indeed it is proof. Genetic studies shine a cold hard light on silly unproven, unsupported claims.

You missed the "Au contraire' obviously.

Religion The Bible: Literal, figurative, bulldust?

Genetics disproves it. I've said this many times and explained why.

Religion The Bible: Literal, figurative, bulldust?

I follow the Gospel of Roylion. As you should. It is an excellent guide to life.
  27. Roylion

Religion The Bible: Literal, figurative, bulldust?

There is absolutely no evidence in the geological record for a Great Flood and genetics disproves any claims that a first human couple existed.

Religion The Bible: Literal, figurative, bulldust?

The Gospel of Roylion tells us to ignore inaccurate claims.

Religion The Bible: Literal, figurative, bulldust?

But with no supporting evidence that it actually occurred.

Religion The Bible: Literal, figurative, bulldust?

Au contraire. I have merely been asking for evidence in support of Biblical events claimed as historical events. You know...the usual... Adam and Eve, the Global Flood, the Patriarchs, the Exodus, the Israelite Conquest of Canaan and so on.
