Mitch says -
"I focused on a bit of everything over summer. Fitness, strength, I worked really hard on my contest and marking, and just keep working on...
Too long ago to remember. But looking at the stats it wasn't the usual players who stood out. Greg Burns, Joffa & Daryl Cunningham, Paul Morwood & Silvio Foschini (thanks syderney) all appear to have had good games.
Team effort?
iirc during 2022 pre-season Owens spent a lot of time working with Steele. 2023 pre-season I had the impression that he started with the midfield group until Harves convinced rtb that he could be/was a forward.
Whilst I want, what I think he can provide in the guts I also like his contribution...
Reminiscing. I've seen us play live in 9 finals over 50+ years for a 4W, 4L, 1D record.
Optimistically, early in the season I booked flights and a couple of weeks over there from mid PF week. FML - if we even make the PF it won't even be in Melbourne!
Much the same happened in 2004, flew into...
I felt that way too. And, I thought that Ross let the tinker do some tinkering.
Also, bris clearly have a very good midfield group but our system & effort (noting their inaccuracy) kept us in the game. While i think we've got a good chance next match, there's nothing to say that we couldn't...
Thanks, but no thanks.
I've seen 2 port games in adelaide and both have been close, late losses. Whilst I wouldn't be there this year, and although payback would be nice, I don't want any repeat of those *ing nightmares, thank you.
Obviously happy with the good win against those xyzs.
Kinda p1ssed off with other results.
However, given our long term mental flakiness, I'm really glad that the team still has to play for their/our own destiny. Who knows what might eventuate, but I want the team to give absolutely everything...
Excellent interview.
Sadly it really adds to the looong dialogue of our sh1tfulness over the years.
And, there were apparently anti Saints umpires 30 years ago. Who woulda thought?
Too much/just enough drink, and as far away from the pain as I can get.
But; but there's no way that Ross and the rest of the club are giving up just yet. A year of exploration provides a fine excuse, but 5th at round 20 provides an opportunity that can't be ignored.
Two wins in the next month...
Yes, I must have read the same thing, although I wonder how anyone in particular really gets to express their creativity in what appears to be a fairly collegiate coaching system. I guess with a developing team that there are plenty of times that dodgy execution cruels anything you might be...
1st part is true - we really struggled with their game plan last year.
Like you I sincerely hope the 2nd part isn't true, but, surely it's not all down to the head coach. With all of the other coaches that we've got some of them have to be good tactically? Please?
I've been putting up with this ever since they started. I don't think their supporters are different to any others but what makes it seem bad is the overwhelming numbers of the baskets. Subiaco used to hold just over 40000 and I doubt whether we'd ever have 2000 supporters there. 20:1 always...
1.20am, a long way from home. Looking forward to knowing a little bit more about our future tomorrow morning. Fabulous if St Ameet can weave some magic but I've loved the ride in these threads over the past months.
Thank you campaigners one and all.
Love the Saints
I'll add my name to those who noticed how well Jimmy Webster played. Bloddy tough competitor.
One thing that hasn't been mentioned is the (generally) higher quality of disposal across the whole match. No where near as many bad kicks putting the receiver under pressure.
Loved Sinclair's game...
I've known about Goldstein having fidelity issues for some time. Couldn't be happier if that bought some pain for both him and norf.
Great day today, thanks to Ameet and the team.
I chased this up and got the following reply:
Normal VCAT appeal time is 6 months and then up to 6 weeks for a decision. That’s put us into April/May. This one I would hope would go to the major cases list which can get in earlier than above (within about 8 weeks approx.). No smooth path for...
