Sitting here ******* laughing to myself at these knobs talking about Handscomb's great T20 innings and how good he looked and blah blah blah when every shot they showed was him backing away or jumping around the pitch having a slog, as if it has any relevance to what's necessary at Test level...
Great, every time I see that Brett Lee yoga ad with him bending over on his knees, all I can think about is that Kevin Spacey boat rumour.
******* Bigfooty.
Don't know what to say. Ecstatic.
It was always gonna require a big step up from our midfield to be premiership contenders, and we got that with Yeo and Redden and then Sheed's finals series, along with Shuey just being the best of the lot as he has for years. Our defence was unbelievable all...
Pies by 3-5 goals. If they get the momentum they had in the QF in the 2nd and 3rd quarter but in front of that crowd at the MCG, they'll put on goals in succession. Our midfield is going to have to play out of their skins.
Just getting utterly smashed in the middle and at ground level. If Sheed isn't gonna offer anything of real value in the middle, then he can spend the rest of the year in the WAFL. Redden and Yeo are the obvious other two who need to lift, and Gaff as well.
Positives:
- Was critical of Gaff in the first half, but he had a big second half, as did Shuey. Redden was good all day.
- Gov and Hurn the obvious ones, but the whole defence was fantastic. Duggan doesn't get enough love.
- Rioli is such a dynamic player, something we haven't had much of in...
Huge quarter, tackling was immense. Gaff, Shuey and Yeo responded well, and Rioli is sublime.
Still, it's West Coast with a 20-odd point lead at 3QT, so I'm fully prepared to have my heart broken and my soul torn into pieces.
Yeo had a better quarter but we need a lift from other midfielders. Gaff has been utter trash so far. Defence has been epic, as usual, but without Naitanui I'm not remotely confident.
Talent wise sure. Off half back easily. But I was talking in the midfield, and you become an A-grade midfielder when you put in at that level for a full year and beyond. I think he will, he's certainly showing the consistency at the moment.
People keep saying his best is good, which is true, it is good. But again, people should temper their expectations on his ceiling I think. As it stand right now, with our current list, Yeo remains our best chance at a true A-grade mid going forward (not including Shuey who is already great and...
Positives:
- Yeo. A fantastic year and fantastic effort. Was our only dynamic midfielder (aside from NN), took the game on and delivered a couple of big moments.
- Cole and Duggan were great off half-back, composed and defensively sound.
- Thought Naitanui was good, desperately tried to make...
It's not just his injury, he's been average all year aside from a few quarters here and there (the Geelong last quarter the main one). I said a couple of years ago that attribute wise it was difficult to see him shaping up to be an A-grader and I stand by that. He's currently an okay footballer...
Sheed can go and take that spell in the WAFL that he was meant to have a few weeks ago. He's been deeply disappointing this year aside from a couple of quarters. Still has a ton to prove at AFL level.
John Wayne at his best was actually a wonderful actor.
There's real talent and craft in Stagecoach, The Searchers, Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, The Shootist, Rio Bravo, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon and a number of others.
