Yes I do remember that win against Rochy my apologies, however I feel with the amount of $$ they have spent on their coaching setup and recruiting they would have hoped to have progressed further than they have.
Nield was recruited from Tasmania 3-4 years ago for memory.
Perhaps Lamont’s coaching style isn’t overly popular. He has recruited well and had pretty good lists since joining Mooroopna and I’ll stand corrected if I’m wrong but I can’t remember them winning a final yet.
Which Ky posters are you referring to here? Jayco as far as I know is a Rushworth supporter, can’t think of anyone else who follows Ky that has commented, happy to stand corrected if I’m wrong.
I don’t necessarily agree with a stay in proceedings but the penalty certainly did not meet the crime...
Scoreboard went blank for over a quarter in the seniors in the prelim.
Siren was sounded at the 3 minute mark of the second quarter in the reserves.
The list goes on.
Echuca the best team in the comp no doubt about that but not sure about the phrase ‘steal the flag’. You win premierships on grand final day not during the year. It’s theirs to lose and they are deserved favourites but you win or lose them in the big dance not during the season.
I wouldn’t say there is a gap between Ky and Seymour. 1 point game that could have gone either way. Ky potentially has a little more upside with the players they had out but for mine it is a genuine 50/50 game next time they play.
Was a fantastic game of country footy. The ball pinged from end to end with Seymour’s transition game in full flow. Was a game of momentum swings with the difference being Kyabrams defence. Golds was a standout best on ground. His run and ball use was first class, if he qualifies for the bombers...
I noticed a couple of notable players not play for euroa on the weekend. Big Erish, the Garside brothers and Hellier, are they injured or have they departed the nest?
What about McLean? I heard he was hanging them up, he got in there best 9 times for the year. Will be a big loss if he isn’t there. Tonny seemed to have lost a lot of experience at this stage, hard to replace.
Im hearing Rochy are losing a fair chunk of their list. Jansen, the two Atleys and the two Harpers plus Russell and Kay who have gone to Elmore. If true thats a long way back for the Tigers.
So do they all work and live in Seymour or some travel to Melbourne for uni or work but live at home.
Either way it’s massive to be able to have that many players live in the town.
From a distance they look to be a very well run club both on and off the field but let’s not forget they have the single biggest advantage in the league with their proximity to the city. Makes everything from recruitment and retention so much easier and you can build your culture a lot better...
I’ve heard Jansen is unlikely to be there as he is moving down to the Torquay area. Don’t take it as gospel but I did get it from a reliable source.
Massive loss if true.
Kyabrams facebook page has Herbert and Keogh being invited to the medal. Can’t see Keogh getting close, struggled with injury all year. Herbert is my smoky, has had a fantastic season and is a proven vote getter from umpires.
There is no way he can get off, elbow to the head resulting in a player being knocked out. McHale copped two weeks near the end of the season so he may miss a few early ones next year. Crazy thing to do when so far up in the game, probably cost himself a premiership medal which is a shame as he...
Echuca finishes top of the ladder and wins the qualifying final in emphatic style than gets rewarded by having to drive 2.5 hours to play in Mansfield for the second semi. Their opponent is just down the road from Mansfield. Makes zero sense to me, I understand that Mansfield is in the other...
They have basically gone unbeaten all year with limited games from Valentine and Reid. Morris is the big loss for this week, he is pivotal to the way they play and setup.
Has Koenen qualified for Mansfield? I think Rich has, he looked very dangerous on the ball against Ky.
Finals are often decided by who has the healthier list. Ky have 6 out of there starting 18. Not sure on other teams but it would seem Mansfield are very close to full strength. They won’t get a better chance to knock off Echuca than this week. Arnold and Christopher will be a handful down...
Other leagues announce there finals venues weeks before the season is finished. This is just another example of the league being left behind when compared with others. It really is a shame what is happening to our once great competition.
This was released at 5:00pm yesterday by the O&M. Can’t be...
I can’t see Mooroopna beating Echuca today, Echuca look to have named their strongest team for the year.
Rochy are by far the luckiest team in there at the moment, all other top 7 teams have played 10 games against other sides in the top 7 where as Rochy have only played 8.
Of those games the...
I have watched 4 games of Murray league over the past two seasons, 3 of them have involved Tonny. Most other weeks I watch Ky. In my honest opinion Tonny would not get within 10 goals of any side in the top 7 of the GV and would have a tough games against any other side in the GVFL. The gap is...
Will he be back this year Ultra? If not I can’t see them beating Echuca.
Mansfield the only chance for mine, they have good leg speed and a dangerous forward line. There backline may struggle to contain Echuca though.
