Unpopular opinion, but I'd have matches decided on goals scored. No other game in the world lets you win based on you missing the target a lot. Bad kicking is bad football. Behinds should only come into play for deciding a match if goals are level.
By this logic, Collingwood would have won...
I disagree, he knows he is reaching the end. He has been preparing for a life after footy and seems comfortable in that reality. When the time comes, if he doesn't pull the pin, it will take only the gentlest of suggestions from Scott.
Not quite done - but the ratio of matches he plays where he has no impact is increasing. Worth going forward with for this year but can't see him pulling on the boots next year. Has a game style which doesn't make for super-long careers.
yeah nah - if we're including other mental illnesses' such as schizophrenia, then things are quite complex. Indeed IMHO in Holland's case it appeared to be more of a psychotic episode than mere 'drunkenness'.
I can only guess, but I assume that they see this as a player welfare issue and I believe they were pretty unhappy with the old policy. The actual writing would have been done by the AFL though as a collaborative effort with the AFLPA, you cant swing a dead cat at AFL house without hitting a lawyer.
There is nothing to suggest that he accused of breaking any laws above misdemeanour level. What the rumours are suggesting are that he has failed an illicit drugs test (NOT to be confused with testing for performance enhancing drugs). The result being that he is required to undergo a medical...
I very much doubt this is true - the doctor is not the individual doing the drug test, and it would be a breach of confidentiality if a doctor were to inform the AFL of medical information which was given to them in confidence. Almost always it is the AFL who first become aware of the drug issue...
Not a valid comparison. Bruhn was facing serious crime charges with a max prison sentence of more than 10 years. Bruhn was denied the chance to play, essentially because it would have been societally unacceptable - this is a standard approach for the AFL and a formalised approach for the NRL...
Not questioning his past efforts, which have been entirely professional. Just saying that IMHO he has moved on in life, as we all do, and that footy is not perhaps his number one interest anymore.
I really think that the Hollands issue and the Stengle issue are completely different.
Hollands really does seem to want to be a footballer and will do the things that an athlete needs to do, but is fighting a battle against mental illness - and while such episodes may be triggered by substance...
MSM is not an echo chamber. Popularist, sure, you can argue that, irresponsible, knock yourself out, but not an echo chamber. Social media works just by repeating things other people have said, there isn't an overall direction, instead people just congregate to what they want to hear regardless...
Just be certain that you really want a smart charger - I got a fronius wattpilot - biggest mistake I made when buying the EV. Nothing wrong the charger per se, just that I went into it naively thinking that I can use OCPP protocol to co-ordinate charging via solar when I had excess. It just...
I dont think it is a chicken and egg. I would argue both are of a result of unfiltered and unverified social media commentary working in echo chambers to reinforce spurious beliefs as true. That it drives voters to the fringes is a consequence.
I feel the term "public spotlight" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. There has always been a lot around questions and muck flung at her - and it just doesn't stick. Not sure that this latest campaign will do much to change that.
It was not a game of inches. It was a case of "when", not "if" Darce was going to do his ACL in the match - it did not snap because of some piece of extraordinary trauma. With the benefit of hindsight, it was clearly on the verge of snapping.
So he has been put into psych ward so it seems. Why is Carlton telling us this? To me this a release of private medical information of a vulnerable individual who is currently incapable of making such a call due to their medical situation. There is no public benefit excuse for this.
I dont think it is a case of playing through - more just just doing rehab now in the hope that it is right to go in 5 or 6 weeks, and if not have the op, which might put you out to mid-late 2027. Or just have the op now and be right to go for 2027.
Think Tyson needs to step away indefinitely and just put a line through the year. If he can get over his troubles and come back renewed, then great, but if not, he'll always be a premiership player with the cats
Horne-Francis seems to save some of his best matches for us - I'd be tempted to have Mullin go with him. Perhaps MOC goes to Butters. Negate those two and the Port cupboard is pretty bare. Georgiades is expected to do it all in the forward line. COS perhaps, but the back line will just play it...
Yeah, the Hume is the lowest hanging fruit there, and then move on to other inter-capital routes, then inter-city routes etc.
Hopefully will start seeing stops along places like the nullabor or other remote areas with a combination of solar array (or wind power) with battery and charger -...
It doesn't help his argument - but there is one thing we can all agree in his argument and that whoever buys the "long-range" model and only drives 12000 a year is throwing their money away
True'ish. The number of times you are 'caught' still matters. The third strike will result in coach and president etc informed, but not the public. At that time the player has to do rehab before they can return and MUST be listed simply as "unavailable". Not sure what Tyson is listed as currently.
yeah - I wasn't really suggesting that was all to it - you'd want to be able to generate enough power - and have the capability to store it. For me that would be doubling my solar panels and getting about a 40 or 50 kwh battery - not really there yet with the tech - even with the federal subsidy...
Impressive about the shade panels. I considered getting a zeekr x, but at the time, they hadn't really launched. I could have waited, but when it comes to EVs, the next big thing is only just around the corner. Ended up getting a Kia Ev5 instead, which I am very happy with.
Choice though is...
