    Not exactly a high bar.

Preview Brisbane Lions v Geelong Round 6 (Saturday 20 April 7:30PM @ Gabba)

Ankle. Hangover from the North game (and to be honest, seeing him live, he didn't "look right" at the MEL game). Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if he's back earlier than expected - ankles can do that 🤞

List Mgmt. 2024 List Management discussion

Might change the team dynamic, but for the better? I personally wouldn't want them both in the centre square - I don't think their disposal is good enough. I'm happy with the balance we have at the moment. FWIW, I too think him being a or the defensive midfielder is his go, but the only way Dev...

Opinion Who was the superior player Simon Black or Lachie Neale?

Suspect there'll be some recency bias here, so hard to effectively assess. For mine though, without denigrating Neale, I'd have Black ahead on two elements - he kicked more goals per game (at least so far), and he was better on his opposite side. Neale is still underrated in football circles...

Review Round 5, 2024 - Melbourne vs. Brisbane Lions

100% this. On the actual issue, I've no doubt there was heaps of niggle the whole night between Petty and our players. You could see it at the ground, and on the replay too. Who knows what was said to Answerth at some point? More broadly, if we're getting some confidence/swagger back, and our...

Review Round 4, 2024 - Brisbane Lions vs. North Melbourne

Yep. I for one get sick of the winger bashing that occurs on here at times. Think they do a hell of a lot of un-rewarded running (in all games, not just last night), that simply goes unseen. I got a new appreciation for Mitch Robinson when he and McCluggage were flying a few years ago, and our...

    Preview Round 5 - Melbourne Demons v Brisbane Lions (Thursday, 11 April 2024 @ 7:30pm)

Personally, am OK with this approach. Not sure who benefits (other than supporters!) from sharing such info. Feel we'd potentially be giving opposing teams a leg up if we were to do so.

    Preview Round 5 - Melbourne Demons v Brisbane Lions (Thursday, 11 April 2024 @ 7:30pm)

True (be a tall forward line in this weather though!). Are any of them off the boil? Maybe Gardiner goes back (and we perhaps go with Fort?), and one of Ah Chee/Answerth/Rayner goes out? Guess it comes down to matching up on them v backing our strengths. Dirty ball into our F50 would...

    Preview Round 5 - Melbourne Demons v Brisbane Lions (Thursday, 11 April 2024 @ 7:30pm)

Except you went down a rabbit hole you didn't need to? FWIW, I reckon Lester will get first crack at Fritsch, which will allow Starcevich to match up on Petracca when he goes forward (not sure we have THAT many options for him).

    Preview Round 5 - Melbourne Demons v Brisbane Lions (Thursday, 11 April 2024 @ 7:30pm)

Don't agree at all. I think he's actually been better than last year, overall, so far (with a few turnovers, granted). If you're going to pick out one piece of play and extrapolate, what about the 3 goals Lester had kicked on him in a qtr against Freo? This isn't Lester v Starcevich by the way...

Review Round 4, 2024 - Brisbane Lions vs. North Melbourne

Decision making and remaining calm gets called out also. Besides perhaps his first 10 mins on, back in his first game this year, he's been solid in this space too thereafter (and it's been a noticeable improvement). Good work all 'round :thumbsu:

Analysis Season 2024 - Statistics and Analytics Thread

Bit late to the party on this one, but the first two dot points back up what the "feel" has been (at least to me). I reckon we've been susceptible to ground balls in our D50 from the mid-way point of last year (culminating in Bobby Hill saluting on GF day). Obviously Coleman/McKenna being out...

Review Round 4, 2024 - Brisbane Lions vs. North Melbourne

The Manningham in Templestowe used to be the Lions pub a few years back - not sure if there is still a turn out there or not (might be a little difficult to get into as well, thanks to the ongoing roadworks). Doncaster and Templestowe Pubs aren't bad (although the latter's food can be a little...

Unofficial Preview Changes v North - Gather Round

So when Daniher goes into the ruck, Morris gets the best defender? Not going to happen. Hipwood stays, Lohmann for Dev, maybe Tunstill sub. Payne stays (for Larkey), and Answerth does too (need him with Zorko going back, and he did OK on Thurs when he went to Hill IMO).

    Preview Round 3, 2024 - Brisbane Lions v Collingwood

Right now, I fail to see that we missed out on anything. Joyce is no world beater, but considering where we were at with Adams, it made sense to pick someone up with at least some senior exposure. Please go on about our recruiting decisions that are so bewildering? I think plenty would argue...

Preview GRAND FINAL - Collingwood Magpies vs Brisbane Lions • Saturday 30 September 2023 • 2:30 PM • Melbourne Cricket Ground

Hope you mean Marcus! Personally, couldn't care less about opposing team players (especially ones who have gone "home") - it's dog eat dog now.

Brownlow 2023 - CONGRATS TWO TIME WINNER LACHIE NEALE

The same game where he squibbed it twice when it was his time to go? Yep, that was it. I'm sure the seagulls will be out again on Saturday.

Unofficial Preview GF Discussion v Pies

Star powered? Why is Adams mentioned and in the photo then? Don't rate him at all (particularly the role he's playing this year), and completely non-fussed as to whether he plays.* *hope those words don't come back to bite me

Unofficial Preview Changes & discussion Qualifying Final 2023 v Port @ The Gabba

Little snippet, but a great call! Still irks me that for all the accolades our great team(s) from 20 years ago received, one thing that gets somewhat lost in the ether is that all of our gun midfield, and plenty of the rest of the team elsewhere, were more than comfortable swinging onto their...
