I gotta say, Swans got away with a bit today.
Bringing our players to ground without possesion, dropping it up forward, Grundy grabbing Heath's guernsey at every boundary throw in in the 2nd quarter. Umps getting in the ****in way lol.
3 goal margin, it adds up.
Still, you just had the feeling...
Sydney a step above, we have a lot of inexperience out there. The dimensions of the ground caught us out a bit too I reckon.
Aftet another preseason I hope our younger guys stick a few more tackles in these high frenetic games but can't learn everything at once.
Maybe I've had a few too many glasses of red but hear me out...
Firstly, yes, the weather has been dissapointing this year but footy, ultimately, is a winter sport so we should be accustoned to this occasionally.
Now,
IMO gather round is slowly becoming something significant on the national...
All over.
Our guys have played some pretty high tempo footy the opening month so I expected them to hit the wall at some point.
A loss won't hurt them.
Bombers have played good solid footbal in average conditions and prepared quite well against our game style.
Essendon have played the conditions slightly better but jesus, umps have killed us.
Crazy not 15m call and bs block cost us two set shots on goal, then a love tap and no htb gifts them 2 up the other end.
Bombers smalls dangerous though and I think they'll win comfortably. AFL will be happy.
So both WA teams have to travel and play opposition who have a game under their belt to iron out the wrinkles so to speak.
Don't get me wrong, GC were always going to win, they're a good team, but at least give WC half a chance. Both Freo abd WC got grifted. This round 0 rubbish has to go.
2026 is a reset year, but Jesus, so many new faces learning a new system under a new coach and they pipped a pre-season premiership fancy.
****ing great start to a new chapter.
Gawn huge.
JVR making a statement.
Picketts
Sharp is great under pressure.
Lots of standouts I cbf typing...
Great...
Suns faster, sharper, harder tonight.
But, what stands out to me the most is their discipline. Hardwick has instilled that without stifling their natural talent.
