Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn: Pick 18, Josh Weddle

He's that type of footballer that can play every position on the ground. Like Goodes. But reminds me most of Kouta. The athleticism. His last quarter was almost game winning type stuff.

    Preview Round 7, 2024 : Hawks v Swans, 4pm Sunday 28th April, MCG

So Buddy is going to be there tomorrow? Do we get him for the first half and the swans for the second? Or is it a swap sides each quarter kinda deal?

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Nick 'the Wizard' Watson!

Such a relief he got that first goal. He looked so deflated after his miss just before half time. Scoring shots in first 2 afl game. Watson: 7 C Rioli: 5 Watson will have a better career than Rioli confirmed.

Game Day Round 2, 2024: Hawthorn v Melbourne, MCG 4.35pm

Its got nothing to do with game plan, or Melbourne's defence. Same story as last week. Losing at the coalface. Midfield clearances. This is the full story of the first quarter.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Nick 'the Wizard' Watson!

One thing that stood out to me in the highlights package, kid has ELITE vision. In a small forward, with his agility, having that 360 vision to find another player makes you even more dangerous and difficult to defend. Exciting.

News Hawthorn Racism Review - No player name speculation - opposition posters tread very carefully

This. Reeves and Jeff became a toxic disaster. I see people taking potshots at Clarko and how he left and his relationship to the club. Jeff and Reeves were a disaster. How they handled the coaching change over (yes Clarko leaked to Caro, but he was being backed into a corner by Jeff, who...

Welcome to Hawthorn - Tom Mitchell - 2018 Brownlow medalist

I posted the video clip and i don't think Tom was being that bad. I think, given HIS perception, he feels a bit hard done by by the hawks. But i actually think, he was pretty fair and didn't really bag the club. He was on a podcast, he's supposed to talk about this stuff. As for my personal...

Welcome to Hawthorn - Tom Mitchell - 2018 Brownlow medalist

Interesting Tom Mitchell interview. He discusses the lead up to leaving Hawthorn. Seems a little salty. This article summarises some of it. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-10-10/magpies-tom-mitchell-didnt-feel-valued-at-hawthorn/102956584

Review Grand Final, 2023 - Collingwood vs. Brisbane Lions

Feel for you guys. Great effort. You guys have the team to challenge for the next 3 years. I reckon you guys are in a similar position as the hawks were in 2012. As a hawks supporter i remember the feeling in 2012 loss to Swans. We lost a heartbeat prelim in 2011 to the Pies. Then lost the 2012...

    Game Day Round 24, 2023 : Hawthorn v Fremantle, MCG 1:45pm

At the game. Seriously considering going home at HT. Not even angry. Players on holiday already. Obviously don't care. Why should we care.

Autopsy Round 23, 2023 : Hawks fall to the Demons

I thought Mitchell coaches really well today. With our outs, obviously we were going to be out powered. Instead of our high handball run and gun attack, we possessed the ball, lots of marks etc. First quarter we dominated. A good team like Melbourne are gonna work their way into the game. But...

Player Watch Welcome to Hawthorn : Jai “Duke” Newcombe - 2022 AFLCA Best Young Player, extends to 2026!

An extra thing I like about him is how driven and competitive he is. Heard Sam M say a couple of times how hard he works on adding new things to his game. Apparently he worked really hard in the off season to improve his overhead marking - and he has become super strong in that area. I think...

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn, Chad Wingard. 200 games! Signed to the end of 2024

We had Guerra on 1 year deals from his first year at the Hawks. That worked out pretty well.

Player Watch Welcome to Hawthorn : Jai “Duke” Newcombe - 2022 AFLCA Best Young Player, extends to 2026!

50 games. Is legitimately in the conversation as a top 25 player in the league (he's top 20 in coaches Votes, top 25 in player rating). Draft steal. Probably my favourite player. Love his competitiveness. And his hard edge.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Pick 7, Cam MacKenzie, extends to 2026!

In terms of competitiveness, I reckon Connor Mac and Weddle also. I know most probably won't agree but Koszinski is a competitive beast too. Just think he lask natural footy talent and nouns unfortunately.

I ended up being Buddy play his very first and last game. My mate (swans supporter) and I went to the Swans v Essendon game on Saturday night to see Buddy one last time. By coincidence, we actually also were at his first game against the Swans in rnd 1 2005 at the SCG. Watching his...

Autopsy Round 18, 2023 : Hawks wallop Roos

His first quarter was elite. He lead in disposals, I50s, meters gained, and score assists at quarter time. Was good the rest of the game too.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn: Connor MacDonald! Extended to 2026!

Coaches Votes. Almost perfect. https://www.afl.com.au/news/948752 Kid is class. Now it looks like he's added work rate and a bit of a harder edge.

Player Watch Welcome to Hawthorn, Seamus Mitchell - Pick #29 2020 ND - extends to 2025! Round 17 Rising Star!

What i really like about him is his run and carry and ball movement. He does it with internet. And more importantly, he looks for gaps and angles to move through and runs in straight lines. Players like Hardwick and even Sicily, great with ball in hand, easily get pushed to run to the outside...

    Justin Reeves resigns

Great News. He was part of Team Kennett. So i think its good we are getting rid of the last of the kennet influence. Jeffs second stint at Hawthorn was a bit of a mess and Reeves was part of it. Broken relationship with Clarkson. Rioli. The Racism report handling. Dude had to go. Hopefully...

Oh you know, overseeing the clusterf**k of this report and whole process. So unprofessional. The afl headquarters are very angry at him. So Justin Reeves was appointed CEO in Nov 2017. How well has the club been run since then does everyone think? What has he achieved. Our 5 yer plan was a...

Weddle. Liking what this kid brings. Thought he did some good things today, worked into the game. Almost 400m gained. Loved his goal He has slowly been building with each game. He is going to have at least one game this season that will make people sit up and notice.

Autopsy Round 6, 2023 : Hawks fail to nail Crows

Anyone else underwhelmed by Sicily so far this year?? I'm a big Sis fan but he's just been off. He is lacking intensity, second efforts a bit poor, decision making off, and his disposal, particularly his handballs, sloppy. His stats are a bit misleading, all kickin players have good padded...

Player Watch Welcome to Hawthorn - Conor Nash. Extends to 2024!

Glad to see this stat. That is bloody impressive! It confirms exactly what I've been saying. We are a better midfielder with him in it. His big body and competitiveness helps win the ball, block opp players, and makes our other midfielders better. He definitely has limitations as a footballer...
