Why would Eastern take clubs that don’t want to be in it? Surely they would have seem the disaster that has happened in Outer East with clubs in that situation & say no thanks

Well if you look at the total player points today South Belgrave has 32, Mitcham 37 so on face value Mitcham better with the cheque book to recruit non Mitcham players to the club [emoji2371]

Pretty poor to be 8:20PM on a Saturday where there are finals played & several of the games with no final scores.
I’m not sure how that can happen? Do the league still have a timekeeper overseeing the 2 from the clubs? Surely they can put the scores up at the end of the game?

Most of them have been in EFNL Competitions in past seasons.
Canterbury, De La Salle, St Kevins OB, Oakleigh all played Vets in 2022, Eltham in 2019
Emerald/Monbulk in current season in under 18 girls & Endeavour Hills in multiple comps this season.
I’d suggest it has something to do with that...
Unless something has changed recently there is no promotion from Divi 1 this season

And they get to keep the Premiership.
Reckon clubs will look at that & say it’s worth going over the cap despite the other penalties they got?

I’m not saying they should have, but it appears the league have given them that & in effect any club in the top 2 Divisions that luxury too when they decided to make Divi 2 a geographical based division. That in itself allows clubs to effectively drop the ball & not focus on rebuilding their...
Maybe they’d like to play in a Division where they might win some games without having to go to a holiday destination to do so

Not according to the EFNL website & the article they released earlier this year. And I’ve not seen any changes to this communicated anywhere [emoji2371]

That is what happens at end of next season
This season is almost standard with all Premiers promoted, all last place teams relegated but bottom 2 relegated from Divi 3
Next season only promotion is Divi 4 & bottom 2 relegated from Premier, Divi 1 & Divi 2, & bottom side relegated from Divi 3
For...
While the EFNL have said they are aiming for 50 teams, 10 per division, if they were to get more would they knock them back? Maybe the EFNL clubs might? But if they got 55 could do 11 per division with a bye (although not ideal as want each team to play each other home & away over an 18 round...
Maybe he’s trying to indicate that South Belgrave cannot be under the $70K salary cap with their recruiting of Tim Smith this season & Taylor Garner for next season - both coming to play the season following being AFL listed plus the rest of the squad.
Could possibly think in the open market &...
In the EFNL there are 8 divisions and no limit on the number of teams a club can field, they play across a number of venues across the area not just one. They seem to be expanding at an extra division each season so the participation numbers would appear to be increasing.
Playing in the EFNL at...
More likely to lose more players because the competition is a farce awarding a Premiership to teams that just happen to be on top of the ladder when the season is called & that may be there simply because they have played bottom sides more often.
It’s tough but better to award none that effect...
What about South Belgrave? Population of just over 1,500 with clubs in most nearby towns/suburbs too and playing against big suburbs.
Took a bit of time to adjust to playing different style footy when moved to EFL, but competitive enough now [emoji2371]

South Belgrave had the women play on the Saturday with the men for all their home fixtures, was usually Under 19, Reserves, Men & Women finished the day off Under light. Except for against FTG where the women played before the senior men
Worked really well, meant there was a decent crowd for the...
South Belgrave & Lysterfield are a combined outfit in junior girls & women’s playing as the SBL Wolves with a combined jumper incorporating both clubs colours.
All ‘South Belgrave’ junior girl players register with SB & then transfer to Lysterfield to play under the SBL Wolves banner
You will...
If a club was operating based on actual known income coming in & had already received it why would they want a reduced salary cap for his season? They would have their ducks in a row & would want to proceed as expect? And why do they have to be the top division sides to do this? [emoji2371]...
Not sure what that had to do with my post about promotion & relegation [emoji2371]
But good to hear the Mitcham facilities are nearly finished

No it wouldn’t, by that logic so would every other promoted & relegated team
All teams have been relegated & promoted based on results of last year for the next season of competition. If this year is a total write off then everyone starts where they would have this season.
If Berwick do come in...
Still has to be ratified by Outer East & AFL Victoria so they could say due to the issues this year they cannot go in 2021

If Berwick FC don’t want them, why doesn’t the Berwick netballer club go align with Berwick Springs if they want to play Saturdays and stay playing in Berwick?
Or is there other reasons?

THE YVMDFL had bylaws that 12 months notice was required to leave, once that was given not sure the league could do much - South Belgrave did that & probably the reason Silvan had to stay for a season despite wanting to go.
