I saw JTE a few years prior to his death at at a hall in Fremantle. Maybe Victoria Hall? He was incredible. Beautiful renditions of every song. He was warm, affable, guitar playing was magnificent, voice was beautiful. I saw him at Mojos less then a year before his death. He was the same nice...

NO TROLLS Hawthorn Racism Review - Sensitive issues discussed.

Jackson is the most thorough journalist in the business. I have no doubt that the people involved were given plenty of opportunity to respond.

    Reid bump on Fyfe

I disagree with the decision, but this sport is not softer. Bigger men running harder and faster every year with big collisions weekly. They need to protect the head but occasionally, accidental contact still occurs.

That was exactly how I saw it.

Midnight Run is fantastic. 2 great performances. One of the great comedies. Reminds me a lot of Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

    Agreed. Fantastic film all round.

Unfortunately, that's where we are at everywhere. The sensible centre seems to be interchangeable with ultra conservative nowadays.

I have watched the final couple of episodes since my post and think they ended up covering the incompetence pretty well. I guess it was made with people not having prior knowledge watching it and kind of made it somewhat suspenseful, then showed how badly wrong they got it at the end.

Very good performance from West Ham. Played some nice football. Good luck for the rest of the year.

West Ham far too good for my lads in the first half. 2-0 flattering us. 😒

4th test Australia v India at the Gabba 1030 AEDT

I followed the final day on Cricinfo at work. I just watched the last 2 hours that I had recorded. Incredible stuff from India. This series win is the greatest single series win that I can recall from any team. To come back from the drubbing in the first test, without Kholi and to have...

Great film. One of Kris Kristofferson's finest roles too.

The Ripper. I'm almost finished it. Pretty good documentary, but so far, not as critical of the police as it should be. They made a hash of everything. Were judgemental about the victims and went off in completely the wrong direction with their investigation.

My boy just turned 13. Been waiting to watch Crackerjack with him. He's spent a bit of time at a bowls club too so he will relate well to it. Terrific movie.

Beautiful Boy. A haunting film about a father (Steve Carell) dealing with his son's (Timothee Chalamet) meth addiction. It is based on memoirs from an actual father and son. Heartbreaking to watch the son's up and down battle and the dad determined not to give up on him. There are many...

Interesting take. I thought season 2 started below the standard of the first season, then improved markedly. I really enjoyed it.

Travellers and Magicians. A very gentle road trip movie from Bhutan. A government officer dreams of life in America and sets off to get there. He meets and travels with a monk, an apple seller and a man that makes rice paper with the help of his daughter. Slow paced, with a lovely feel. 8/10.

    FTA-TV outcry

Yeah, I binge watched it this weekend. Very well made. Dreadful work by the police in particular. Kelley came over as a decent person. It's incomprehensible how you can come through an ordeal like that and still be positive. I would recommend Murder on a Sunday Morning to anybody that enjoyed this.

I coached my son's footy team from pre primary until grade 4. At that stage, no scores were kept but unofficially, we won every game comfortably. My son retired to play basketball so I quit as coach. Last night, we went to watch them in their first GF. No ladders or points awarded until grade...

Just got home from seeing The Return of the Jedi with my son. Great to watch on the big screen. Luke with Darth Vader were the best scenes. The ewoks were cute when I was a kid but too many strange, cutesie creatures in general. Princess Leia in that costume was the highlight. 7/10.
