So technically Carroll is not listed as an in or an out (since he's still in the 23) and the only change this week is Durdin for Doc.
The emergencies are Binns, Pittonet and Moir FYI
3 days a long time in this thread. Hope it happens too.
We probably won't know until final teams tomorrow, expect Moir/Kennedy/Carroll could all be named on the bench.
Carroll for Doc. Seems quite unanimous.
I'd personally go Moir for Kennedy, then Kennedy/Binns sub. Mostly playing Kennedy as 3rd tall (Only 21% CBA's) - would rather those CBA's go to Carroll (along with Doc's 10% & Carroll's 34% etc)
Otherwise Binns sub with just the one change seems likely.
This is the line-up I landed on too, but I have no idea if 1 of Melican/Hamling make the team, and if that means Roberts, Cuningham or Rampe miss.
Fox/Sheldrick effectively the other spot, but whoever misses the 22 should be sub IMO.
Binns played the first half of the VFL today. Not sure what they have planned for him tonight but wouldn't expect more than a quarter tops?
Also not sure how much time Wilson gets, especially if we treat is as a Round 0 prep, he may be considered the "sub" and play last quarter only.
I thought E Hollands was our best yesterday. Dissapointing we won't have him for the first 2 rounds, hopefully are 1-1 (realistically) and can kick the season off after the bye with him.
We have 7 defenders, so Doc won't be needed in defence. He also has a shoulder concern so wouldn't want to rely on him marking in defence (great marks last week 2nd half though!)
Apparently he trained in the forward line at training.
If Cottrell is 100% forward, then Doc will be 40% wing, 40%...
I didn't look at the teams named, I'm just saying Hollands & Acres are our wingers, with some extra wing time remaining for Cottrell/Doc, hence I expect Doc would be a late out unless he really plays forward majority of the game.
Lyons basically confirmed in an interview...
I really do think Doc will be a late change (apparently he trained at half-forward) and one of Owies/Cuningham (hopefully Owies) comes in.
Also Kemp could easily come in for one of Marchbank/Cincotta who were apparently in some doubt.
Carnage!!
Personally my thoughts:
We had one too many tall defenders so I'm happy we dropped one (I know many said they are hybrid talls etc)
Joel Smith had a big game on Kemp last week.... I'd still be on Kemp watch as a late in for Marchbank/Cincotta (both in some doubt?) as he's the only...
Lyons basically confirmed in an interview (https://spotify.link/100wOgHueDb) that he will be sub this week (4:25)
I'd love it if he wasn't, as he's a gun (IMO) even on this years form.
I wonder if Hollands training in the main team was likely just because Doc isn’t in contact training, may well not get up for the game, and Hollands is in the 23 anyway.
I expect Doc is named and Hollands isn’t tonight. If they are both named, a Doc late out for a small forward becomes close to...
I think the week off will be a big benefit in a GF (Pies vs Blues, or Bris v GWS) so a Pies GF isn’t ideal. Think statistically last few years the week off doesn’t particularly help in a prelim, but can help in the GF if fresh.
So cheering GWS which I’m sure we all were anyway :D
Doc pretty much said last night that it's great he's re-signed and now he can get his body right for future years. They are media trained very well but it's a pretty obvious sign SOS isn't going to be playing this year (if it wasn't obvious already)
Joshua Dawe (9 News) said Hollands will stay...

I've probably warmed to keeping this set-up, just because we've had it for all the finals...
Personally no, I'm surprised many want to keep him in the 22 or even sub.
Assuming Dow leaves (seems very likely now) - Kennedy will be ready to fight back into a midfield spot next year. I'd be shocked if we need him forward ever again (big call) but it would mean we are missing 3 of...
I agree - Gov a great matchup for Rayner this week, which only leaves Hipwood/Daniher for the Lions talls. If Gunston comes in, then we can’t really change our lineup, but otherwise will be intriguing.
On a personal note, I'm not against Marchbank playing, just think we are too tall so one of Kemp/Marchbank miss. I would lean Marchbank out, but Kemp had a hard time with Joel Smith on the weekend too. I don't think we've played with four talls recently until the first final - Gov missed Rounds...
I agree but it's very hard to drop any of TDK/Pitto, or not bring back McKay?
Against Sydney, Pitt/TDK TOG was 61%/71%, so that's quite good for our runners (essentially there's only 32% of the game when both on the field)
Last week was 76%/85%, as TDK was needed up forward (so, 61% of the...
Would you be ok with Fisher in instead of Boyd? Fisher has been in the 26 for both finals game and played more recently. I'd be happy with Boyd in for Marchbank, but I agree he's missed too many games and can't see them doing it. If anyone is coming in for Marchbank, I think realistically it has...
I would think so yep.
Can't see Pitt or TDK missing again this year. And can't see SOS playing. I don't think another week helps him much, if they didn't risk him last week when he was the exact player we needed.
I still don't think we need the four tall backs. It's increasingly unlikely...
