Yep agree here TD, I think he's just about done. If he's not getting it on the wing, we can't really hide him anywhere else. He's too slow to play half forward, not good enough defensively to play half back. A bit worried about what to expect from him for the rest of the year honestly.
Defensively he's been very good, 31 pressure acts today. Some big tackles & does chase & harass well.
Offensively, however, he's nowhere near good enough yet. Obviously it takes time to learn the system and fit in, but I'm still a bit disappointed. 8 goals from 7 games isn't enough.
Realistically I think we're in the 6-10 range this year, I think we're competing with Port, Ess, Dogs, Bris & maybe Freo for 2 spots in the 8.
The main issue for me is that no one has really improved on last year (Lippa, Noble maybe?), some blokes are playing at the same level, but quite a...
Loved the game. Our highest score since round 2 last year, against the same teal pretenders we faced today. And to do it from 31 points down? Chef's kiss.
We got our identity back (let's ignore the first quarter yeah?) in terms of pressure and ball movement and basically everyone...
Sullivan a better option than Fin IMO, especially if it's another sub role.
In terms of going with one ruck, not sure this is the week to do that, Dixon would destroy any other 2nd ruck we have to put up at the moment.
Watched most of the game, always good to see Carlton lose two days in a row. Nice to see Benny Crocker back in the black & white and kicked a couple of important goals.
A couple of players that caught my eye:
Tew Jiath: Still raw as hell and needs to put on size. But appears to read the play...
Sadly as we learn more about the affect of concussion, this kind of thing is going to become more common. If the worst case eventuates and Murph doesn't continue, will be very sad for all involved. But his health is more important, and he goes out as a premiership player. 10? concussions is...
Wouldn't be surprised to see us go in with the same lineup, but Pendles as sub.
I watched the VFL game and Fin was impressive, as he always is at that level. I think he needs a block of games though, I'd like to see him play at least 1-2 more before being called up for what's probably going to...
We can all breathe a sigh of relief, as Nick will enter his 3rd season in 2024 and pass the dreaded 2nd year blues.
Honestly still in awe of what Nick is now & what he could become. Already a premiership legend, the sky is the limit.
I'll be honest, I was not a huge fan of him at Richmond or GC, so was not expecting much. I've really come around to Leggy though, he's provides real energy out there and you can see how much the boys love him.
I loved his response to the question in the post game, something around the lines...
I could see this happening. I'd be nervous taking only Cox or Cameron in on their own, because if they went down you've got McStay solo rucking against probably Gawn, and that's a nightmare scenario. Having one as the sub is the insurance policy there. Cameron has probably earned the starting...
Was a pretty bad performance but due to the injury, never got the chance to calm the nerves and work his way into the game. Still gonna be a player, just not ready & won't be seen until 2024 anyway.
