Not sure why we'd bring Lobb in with Darcy and Naughton there already. Could swing Buku forward in a pinch too.

I used to have faith in our list, but the losses of Dunkley and Lipinski, combined with the potential loss of Bailey Smith means we have a massive gap in terms of 23-27 year-old midfielders.
At either end of the ground we have height but lack real positional power that other teams have. May...
Out:
Gallagher - looks cooked for the moment and a couple of lacklustre efforts
Libba - gotta be more to that stumble
Duryea - love the bloke and he reads the play better than any, but there are a lot of "old man-falls" happening out there. If we are serious about being amongst it this year...
Depressing. Compared to last week's "honourable" loss. We were only 10-15% of the team we were against Geelong. Is it our preparation?

Am I right in thinking Dale missed a bit of pre-season? I'm guessing he's getting the benefit of the doubt at least for the next week.

In case you hadn't noticed the current trend across all clubs is to play your best midfield group at about 80% of centre square bounces. We're definitely not alone there.

Lets not forget that we played four guys yesterday with 15 or less games experience.
Based on that it was a pretty good effort against a quality opposition full of premiership players.
Plenty to work with.

As usual the rot starts in the ruck. English is great around the ground but gets out-muscled and out-tapped again and again and lacks aggression.

Need structure down back with another tall so that Jones and Khamis aren't having to plug every single hole. We'll come up against sides like Port who play with 4 tall forwards so we need to bite the bullet and bring O'donnell in.
Bailey Williams got a bit of the ball but I thought he was soft...
5. Libba
4. Treloar
3. Jones
2. Bont
1. Khamis
Apologies to Westy and Weightman thought they were both solid.

Duryea was good in patches but a couple of his kicks were absolutely barry crockers. I feel like if we're relying on him to hold the backline together we're not a finals side.

We kicked 14.7 you can hardly blame goal-kicking....
Vandermeer's howler was probably the only one that should have been a certainty. And if course they took it down and kicked one straight away.

Not good enough but a fair bit to like.
Felt Cameron running up and down the ground was the real difference. We just didn't have anyone who could go with him.

Oh well we're in it. Cats just seem to be getting their goals easier and have a more even effort across the 22.
We have to be like the terminator. Just keep comin'.

Good signs towards the end.
Need to keep a forward structure of Darcy JUH, Weightman and West, with Naughton up the ground.
Also I feel Cats are doing well in the ruck, getting clean hits to their rovers, so English needs to negate that.

We can definitely win this but I'd feel much more confident with a second tall defender. We'll already have two players giving away a height advantage, and if Blicavs or Stanley rest forward that would make 3. Just puts the defense under too much pressure if the midfield aren't on top.
On...
Weightman was on the news talking about his elbow. Will be in a brace for most of the week. Obviously keen to play but I'm thinking we'll give him a game off to recover.
OUT: Weightman, Poulter, Duryea
IN: Richards, Garcia, O'Donnell
