Matthew Bate continues to reveal the fact that the only way he can wni the ball is on a lead. When he does get he chooses the wrong option as today when Brad Green was 20 metres out and he kicked over his head. In any contested situation the ball is not retained, he can't stick tackles and is...
there were alot of valenti lovers on this board but he possessed none of the required skills to improve the team. He wasn't fast. he didn't have quick hands and was an ordinary kick. Unfortunately he was rookie listed so there have to be a few more delistings. Bartram will probably be one.
Besides Miller (rumour was he'd get a new contract - who knows why), quote]
Miller will get a new contract because he is one of the few players on the list who is ferocious at the ball and he will provide a leadership and mentoring role for the young forwards on the list namely Watts, Jurrah...
Buckley, Bartram, Robertson, McDonald, Whelan & Wheatley are not contracted for next year. So who are you going to delist. With picks 1,2 18 and first pick in the PSD which of those p[layers are you going to contract given we need to delist at least 4 and hopefully 5 with pick 34 likely to...
Are you kidding. Sydney are shocking as indicated by their previous loss to Carlton by 10 goals who were thrashed in turn by Collingwood by 10 goals. Sydney are in more trouble than we are. That game was equally an indictment of us as them. The only players in that team that would get a game in...
The players who are most likely to not have their contacts renewed are McDonald, Whelan, Wheatly, Macnamara, Buckley and Robertson. We need to delist at least 5 players and Johnson, Bell, Bate, and Newton are contracted for next year
Don't you get it. Bell is contracted for another year. They are not going to pay out his contract considering the financial pressure the team is facing.
I agree Valenti will be delisted because he is slow by hand and foot one dimensional and not the greatest kick in the world. we do not need his type on the list
The coach is only as good as his players. they have spent alot of time trying to improve kicking skills but under pressure is when these problems come to light. The problem is we have very few good footballers so your attitude towards Bailey to me is incomprehensible.
The high draft picks on...
We have Martin, Frawley, Garland and Warnock with Rivers waiting in the wings if he ever gets fit.
Our draft selections addressed what we were sadly lacking. Speed and the ability to hit targets. Obviously the recruiting department thought there were no ruckmen of sufficient quality remaininng...
"Nice low key announcement, Bailey must respect him and the decision will create minimal change to the players. Hopefully we get a bit of that Sandringham premiership form come through."
My concern is that in my opinion to be a midfield coach one would need to know some of the tactics and...
Prismall is a slow outside mid. He doesn't take contested marks, his statistic for one percenters is woeful and his disposal is average . He is no loss and he isn't worth the money he will be paid.
i have watched Prismall play several times this year and I wasn't impressed by his pace or his disposal. The other downside is that he was playing in an awesome team which I think tends to make lesser players look much better than they actually are. I for one wouldn't take him.
You are right i am disillusioned. Starting way back when we kept Darren Kowal instead of obtaining David Wirrpunda. Delisting Alan Jacovich who was drafted the next year in the first round. Drafting Donald Cockatoo-Collins. Being told by officials at the club in direct conversation that we had...
Firstly Sam Mitchell has far greater vision and disposal then Jones will ever have and secondly: where do you think we will finish next year? Is thinking we will be bottom 2 realistic or pessimistic. Thirdly: how much did you donate to the club this year. Platinum status would indicate where my...
We will not give up pick 19 for Warnock. We need pace and skill.
The players that would be around at these picks and fit those criteria would be Stephen Hill who won the agility test at draft camp, Sam Blease, and Tom Swift. I think they will choose Jack Watts at 1 because of his flexibility.
I have been lambasted in the past for describing Jones as just a good ordinary footballer and i believe it was you my friend in response to previous posts of mine criticising Mr. Bate who stated categorically that he would finish in the top 8 of the B & F.
Certain contributors to this august forum have been touting the performances of the above players. It would be prudent I think for them to take some time to evaluate their capacity to accurately assess our players
An interesting comment in the Age Grand Final supplement. The Hawks deliberately drafted left footers because of their higher kicking efficiency and as a result assumed the mantle of No. I on the efficiency list. Something to think upon.
The Grand Final highlighted the chasm in skill level between the Grand Finalists and us. Hawthorn won the game because of their kicking superiority both in front of goal and around the ground. The first priority in my opinion when choosing players in the forthcoming draft is to select those who...
He is definitely not slow and I don't think he has great endurance. His main failing in my opinion is his disposal by foot. We do not need another outside player who cannot hit a target. However I think he would provide good service for a team based at Subiaco where there is less contested footy.
Dear Cannons
Whilst i enjoy some of your work rating potential is a ludicrous notion. Potential to be what? an A grade player a good ordinary footballer what.
Just as an example Daniel Bell has A+ potential to be a depth player. It is a nonsense.
