Collingwood have made 5 changes to their strip since 05 to suit what the manufacturer is doing.
Unfortunately for us, our jumpers use side panels, which means we dont get the hoops going all the way around.
Which is why aside from manufacturer changes we havent touched the home jumper since day 1, and seek to wear it at every opportunity. The clash jumper is a money spinner. Wake up.
Really of all the things to complain about.... Its a clash jumper. I could care less if we changed it every year... and thats where its heading.
And yes, its marketing. Or money to be more accurate, something new to flog. New jumper = new sales. Rinse and repeat, like just about...
The choices they make are pretty av at times but its a marketing excercise. They arent going to adopt an away/clash jumper in these times for 5+ years. All clubs that bother to have a proper clash jumper tinker with them constantly.
It also allows us to keep the home jumper untouched.
The expansion team criticsm isnt really fair either imo.
As I understand it the 'panels' job was to ensure GC & GWS didnt become basket cases like Brisbane in the 80s, not so much what is fair for the AFC and rest of the competition.
I think there is something to the story, otherwise we would have flat out rubbished the reports. Even when the rumours came out and Tippett was moved to post a video response, he only said that he would honor the current deal. Never denied he had an out clause- which is what the fuss was about...
No, its an archaic practice that acheives nothing. So port dug their heels in on stevens. He still got to his home state, they got nada.
Players get where they want to go these days. It doesnt just happen to our club, we got Jacobs for a song. Port got Ebert cheaply.
A player makes up his...
To be fair that is how we've played this season. Just about every game including the nab.
We have alot of the play and get out to an early lead. It looks easy. We are very inaccurate, and then the goals dry up a bit. The other team gets on top. So far we have been able to get momentum back in...
Their elite legs are not translating into better results, so wheres the advantage? If the sky is falling because tippett plays close to goal, then you cant be happy with the rest of the sides goal kicking either. Its just as bad.
Thats the annoying thing, youre flat out wrong. Look it up.
Tex is on par with tippett. They kick at 60%. Vince has kicked 1.5 this year. Spud. But play on, petes pets are winners.
Yeah otherwise it would have been 7.
His kicking isnt where we'd like, no s**t. Hes the only forward we have who can impose himself on a game. The alternative is no mark and the ball comes straight out. If we had someone who could get in the position to have several shots per game (with better...
Why bother? You said you werent interested a moment ago, and when the results surprise you, you'll just twist it and rank the players based on the slippery pete scale of I says so.
So which is it?
"A forward is only as good as his finishing, blah blah blah, the end."
Finishing is the ability to score goals rather than points last time I checked. The players you rate finish as the well as the ones you condemn. Its there in black and white. It would be good if you had...
I guess the league is filled with spud forwards then. Whats Buddys accuracy like? Kennedy?
Id also argue that finishing is pretty useless if you cant get the pill in the first place.
He misses too many shots, its not good and needs work.
As far as contested marking goes, he's probably the best we've ever had. No one else yesterday could have won enough ball to have 6 shots. He often takes two or three defenders (because hes a spud  ), and he gives a contest when...
