So, could Erasmus do a run-with role ? Cover Rozee or Butters ? Maybe play defensive forward on some like Farrell ? Just trying to get him a full game. We have a lot of players who are best at playing as inside mids.
I don't think JOM will be the sub this week.
Darcy to play - why else would he be there.
My predicted line up:
FB: Aish, Pearce, Draper
HB: Walker, Ryan, Clark
C: Brayshaw, Fyfe, Sharp
HF: Walters, Banfield, Switkowski
FF: Treacy, Amiss, Jackson
FOL: Darcy, Serong, Young
IC (from): Emmett, Erasmus, Hughes, Johnson, O'Meara
Erasmus or...
Back in the day West Perth was definitely one of the bigger clubs, so might have been viable at the end of the 90's perhaps but I doubt that support is that strong anymore. I think the state government would only support a 3rd Perth team if they were at Optus - the more events there the better...
For WA3 - so there are 90k in Bunbury, around 42k in Busselton (20 mins from Bunbury), around 25-30k in Dunsborough, Margaret River, Augusta area (45-60 mins from Bunbury). It's growing at around 2-2.5% per year - so a strong regional growth area. He's probably including towns all the way down...
I think Chapman needs another week at Peel to give him confidence in his body, though I would love him in - most likely for Hughes - though he has been doing pretty well as long as he doesn't get ahead of himself in his disposals.
So changes:
Ins: Darcy, Ras
Outs: Tabs, Freddy
Feel like if...
Firstly kudos to Geelong to be talked about again qualifying for finals - they are annoyingly consistently good. I think having finals in Geelong would be fantastic for the city and makes perfect sense. I think 40K is now big enough to have all there home finals there - given that the Gabba is...
Does Carlton even know how to get Adelaide oval ? They've only played there 7 times with 0 wins. Shows the weird nature of the fixture. Freo have played there 16 times in the same timeframe.
So the WAFL clubs currently get 600k from West Coast and Fremantle ( with their Peel alignment) so that would be devastating to local football to remove that when they pretty much do the hard yards finding and nurturing the local players through colts and upwards. It could happen but money needs...
Will be interesting to see how this one goes. There is a lot of hype around for Carlton at the moment, but they've basically beaten the same teams in Brisbane and North, with Richmond at least prior to the season rated behind Adelaide (maybe not now). Keys will be in the midfield and whether...
Are the AFL willing to fund private charters to and from WA for the Reserves as well ? Would we align all the games to follow the same fixtures ? What happens for the bye weeks / gather round etc. Could you have all the reserve teams in Adelaide as well ?
It seems to me that it's a great event in SA - it might make sense in NSW, QLD to promote the code and in Tassie for the launch of the new team. I don't think Gather Round will ever be in WA or if it is it will be a one off - as it's really difficult to get over here with a limited number of...
I was trying to get a ticket about 9.30am this morning - and every time I selected one - it came up with "Secure Ticket Option Not Selected" when there wasn't actually an option to select a secure ticket.
I just think the team needed to do the basics better, and there is a bit of knowing our leading patterns in the forward line. In the first quarter especially, there would be a lead either towards the ball carrier or back towards goal, and the player with the ball would choose the wrong place to...
I have us finishing 6th on the Ladder Predictor. Perhaps a little bit optimistic, with us losing only 3 games for the rest of the year, this would be ahead of St Kilda in 7th, Adelaide in 8th, Gold Coast in 9th and Essendon in 10th.
Great win by Freo - both teams played a really hard contested brand of football. Freo took more of their chances, Melbourne didn't, really just as simple as that.
Also there is a march from Fed Square - which is where Beer Deluxe is. I think there are possibly going to be people around from 3pm to 3.30pm if you want to get there early. Another pub next to that one if it gets too busy.
We can't really change our game plan too much. Win at the contest, force the turnover, backline and team defence stop them scoring, and try and move the ball quickly with good ball movement and fast run of the half-backs, wings and half-forwards.
A couple of things we need to do are
Have...
Freo are using private charter planes, so they can leave when they want to I believe. It would be up to medical and conditioning whether they leave so late after a match - the Prelim final would on the next Saturday night as well.
Honestly, Ticketek sucks the big-time - agree about Ticketmaster being a lot better.
It's annoyed me even more now that I've downloaded the ticket and it says just "Collingwood" on it.
Is everyone else just waiting on the Ticketek site now ? Same as others - I've spent $1000 or so on flights and accomodation - it's a bit nerve racking tbh.
So I have flights and accomodation after convincing wifey it was the right thing to do to let me go - now I just have to log in as Emma to get my tickets apparently according to the club, not Keith this time from the postcard. I’ve got 3 Freo personalities it seems at least. Hoping to sit with...
I'm excited to see how Amiss goes, especially against a somewhat suspect Bulldogs backline. We need to bring the pressure though in the midfield and forward line - give the bulldogs no time to react. We can't let Bailey Smith, the Bont, Treloar, McCrae etc freedom to move and be creative...
I don't think it's an advantage for the bulldogs to play in the wet also - they play every 2 out of 3 games at Marvel, not sure how many wet weather games they've had. Also we've had a lot, plus trained in a lot of rain this year, and we beat the Eagles in the wet (though doesn't say a lot) - so...
I’ve been to one Freo game, the Sydney one, in a corporate suite and whilst it was nice and all I didn’t enjoy it as everyone else was networking and I just wanted to yell at the Umpire without being seen as unhinged
I’m guessing there would be quite a few allocated to sponsors of Freo, the Bulldogs and the AFL as well available via corporate sales for all the suites.
I hardly think it's a disadvantage for Geelong to play at the MCG - they've played 9 games at GMHBA and 5-6 at the MCG this year, two of which were home games against Essendon and Richmond. The MCG is also Geelong's home ground,
