Showed nothing in the regular season? Did you see any of 2017? Agree his disposal wasn’t always great but he got a fair bit of the ball - Rd 1 - 24 disp, R3- 25, R6-28, R12 19 disp and 3 goals, R15 - 28 disp & 1 goal- one of our best that day against Ess.
Can't believe the Adcock bashers on this thread. He's one of only a couple that has a genuine crack. Current form isn't great but he's not alone.
The team has zero confidence. Anyone who watched the Carlton preseason game knows the boys can play. As TBD mentioned earlier - players just aren't...
Ins: Brown, Bartlett, Harwood, Karnezis, Longer
Out: Black, Hudson (rest), Stiller, Mckeever
We need some speed through the middle/wings. Play Karnezis & Rich HBF. Rockcliff forward. Bartlett as the sub to come on for Brown half way through 3rd (expecting Brown to be tired 1st up).
Polec no...
Agreed. His goal sense and skill is wasted in defence.
I don't think both Acorn/Retzy can both play in the same team. I'd rather have Leuy forward to replace one. Remembering Leuy's stint forward against the Dees at the G last year
8/22 of the above list didn't play against Crows. Trying to draw conclusions from one poor game would be difficult. Don't forget Drummo and Browny to come back also later on.
Zorko for Banfield could be a change also.
Was it just me or did Mcgrath look frustrated down back last night? He...
My most memorable was the 1992 game at Princess Park v Collingwood...

Pert goal then backed up by Roos's snap - 10,000 odd lions fans at the game went mad. Roos - what a warrior. Perhaps the start of our love of beating collingwood?
We finished 15th this year. Some new faces should push the other guys and act as an incentive, rather than having an automatic selection mindset. Rd 1 selection doesn't mean they will play 22 games either.
What a gun he is. Despite all the negativity in the last few years, some great prospects coming through.
Don't forget this man - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1HjsjjOSic
Karnezis has the ability to kick difficult goals. But he has a lot of Andrew Embley in him - versatile.
Think...
Number 3 needs to spend a pre season in the gym. I'd give Golby a rest... put Bartlett on a back pocket/back flank. To give credit where its due, Maguire deserves a pat on the back for putting his body on the line several times
I think Melbourne is pretty similar to Sydney these days in terms of cost of living. But thats funny re SA :)
So as to have a fair system, maybe every club should get an allowance in their cap for the % of interstate players on their list, reviewed every year.
This is spot on. Lack of leg speed - the worrying thing is that we even looked slow in the first quarter, as if we were pacing ourselves.
We didn't apply any intensity until late in the 2nd quarter - I remember seeing Luke Power putting his body on the line twice in a few minutes.
My...
If the whole team took a leaf out of Jed Adcock's book and played with his attack on the footy - we'd instantly be 20% better as a side. I think your spot on - its our intensity, as well as getting that belief back in the side. This week, I'd love to see them play on a bit more - take the game on...
The move to put McGrath forward last week seemed to rejuvenate him.. he was starting to appear as if his drive was missing. Harwood's big body in the midfield will be important - Leuy smashed the hitouts last week (52) so we need to capitalise on his ability a bit more..
Spot on Weevil. Clark to Ruck/CHB. Looks lost in the forward line. Needs a haircut - doesnt look fair dinkum.
What happened to the idea of Patful at FF? He hardly touched it today. Polkers shouldve been HFF earlier. 2 good goals in the end.
Was great to see Adcock's attack on the footy -...
Should've worn the old fitzroy jumpers for just one week. Still, we can take a lot from today's game. Certainly lifted our intensity up a few notches from last week and we looked hungry.
A few positives from today's game:
- Obrien - looks like a young rischa and knows how to find the ball
- Sheldon - got a few touches.
- Broc Mccauley - the kid has a crack
Our tackling pressure. Was the difference in the 1st half. We constantly had more players to the ball, and many guys put...
