Permanent Twilight football might solve some structural problems of clubs with multiple U14 and U16 teams. Make it so clubs can only have a single u14 team and a single u16 team
U14 9.15am
U16 10.45am
U18 12.30pm
Reserves 2.10pm
Seniors 4.00pm
Finish 6.30pm?
Currently football clubs are not located where people live.
Players live in Bendigo and travel out to clubs such as Mitiamo as an example.
I know it's not this simple but consider the idea of move the club to where the people live.
No club plays at Weroona Oval for example, only one club now...
State of Origin
Must be succinct. All states must be included
Division 1
Vic, SA, WA, Qld
Division 2
NSW, Tas, NT, ACT
ACT could merge with NSW. Controversial "World Team" can take the spot
Played as a pre-season magic round - call it "Origin Gather"
Games are 2 X 20 minute halves. 8 on...
Regardless of thoughts on travel I think it's a poor effort by AFL Goldfields to have 30 district teams in just 2 leagues. RDFL was/is under their jurisdiction too so that's another 12 clubs.
It's my opinion that the majority of these clubs could be better served by a sensible reorganisation...
I played at Campbells Creek in 2014 & 2015.
What I think Central Victoria needs is smaller localised district leagues of say 8-9 teams not the current 17 team CHFL and 13 team MCDFNL. It's 115 km from Campbells Creek to Navarre! It's 120 km from Creek to Melbourne CBD
Smythsdale and Creek look...
I feel that if the Loddon Valley had waited until June 22 when the next round of easing restrictions are announced the key dates and crowd numbers would be clear.
I'm surprised leagues aren't waiting but it's up to them I guess.
I'm happy that the Bendigo FL is being patient.
Maiden Gully YCW...
Including teams from Echuca/Moama into the Bendigo FL sounds like a good idea to me
Possibly Echuca and Rochy from the GV?
Plus Moama and Echuca United from the Murray FL?
4 teams that do have/could develop good local rivalries.
6 Bendigo teams + 4 from Echuca area sounds good. It also fits...
There was talk in Bendigo of YCW taking the step up to Bendigo FL when they moved to the growth suburb of Maiden Gully a few years ago.
That talk seems to have fizzled out.
I think Maryborough Castlemaine and Kyneton are a problem due to not fielding all netball and football grades...
All quiet on the Bendigo FL board so I thought I'd put this in here. Interesting ideas

While I'm at it....
Ideally I see the Bendigo FL comprising teams only from Bendigo similar to the Bendigo District Cricket Association.
The YCW president said they would consider joing the BFL when they moved to Maiden Gully.
I don't know if this will work or the Strath model of a brand new...
I am certainly in favour of a shake up of the Bendigo FL.
Opposition to change is simply small mindedness.
AlburyE you might get more traction from the Weekly Times. I have heard they are looking into the leagues run by AFL Goldfields (Ballarat). How you can run a district league with 17/18...
The AFL annual reports are a good place to have a look - the earlier ones have lots of historical information.
The earliest I can find is from 1993.
